Regiment membership - please all read

FANGS

Commanding Officer
Community Staff
Division Staff
I'm noticing a great deal of people who qualify to be part of a Regiment (ie: Type B Membership with 50 posts and 90 days) but have not yet been added.

Please take a moment to let us know here if you wish to be added and we'll get that taken care of for you.

So, what is a Regiment?

The 405th is more than an online community, we also work to connect Halo cosplayers in Real Life through our local “Regiments” which allow members to meet other people in their area who share their passions. Basically, a Regiment is a locally organized chapter of the wider 405th. The local Regiments are designed to allow people to meet, get to know, and work with other Halo Cosplayers in their area. These local Regiments provide a sense of Identity and Community to members and give them a space to call their own.

Additionally, the 405th participates in many events around the globe, from Game Releases, Conventions, and even Minor League Baseball games, and these Local Regiments allow us to professionally organize these events, look out for our members in attendance at these events, and put forward the best face for both the 405th and the Halo Franchise as a whole.

What does it take to join a regiment?

Membership in a regiment is an entirely voluntary process. The Armory (The New File Archive) and all sections of the Forum, except for the local regiment sections, are open to any Registered Forum Member. You do not need to join a Regiment to download files, post in the costume creation sections, or show off your build.

However, if a member decides to take the next step and join a regiment and get more involved with local fellow 405th members, they must first make sure that their account is more than 90 days old and that they have over 50 posts. This demonstrates that the member is committed to actively participating with the 405th Organization. Once a member has 50 posts on an account that is over 90 days old, they then post in this thread and request to be added to their local Regiment.

The Regimental Membership Officer, or RMO, for that Regiment is responsible for checking this thread and confirming that the member meets the requirements and belongs in their Regiment. At that time the local RMO will then give the go ahead in a special thread in the Regimental Command Staff Section for the member to be added to the Regiment.

How do you know which Regiment is your local regiment?

The current Regiments are:
Australia – Covering Australia
Canadian – Covering Canada
Colonial – Covering Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont
European – Covering Europe including the British Isles and ending at the Russian border.
Midwest -Covering Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin
Mountain – Covering Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
New Zealand – Covering New Zealand
Pacific – Covering California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii
Southern – Covering Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Southwest – Covering Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Regimiento de Mexico: Mexico, Central America and South America - (Cubriendo México, América Central y América del sur)
Singapore - Covering Singapore

(Additional, 4-2-2017)
I posted in this thread, but I am still not in a Regiment. What do I do?

If you have not heard back from your Local RMO after posting on this thread, your first step should be to contact them. If you do not hear back from your local RMO, the next step should be to contact your local RCO. If your local RCO does not respond to you, then you should bring it to the attention of Division Staff Member, such as FANGS or Cadet and we will look into the issue.

Do understand that all Division and Regimental Officers are only volunteers doing this in their free time, and real life issues may distract them and keep them away from the Forum from time to time.

I believe you are referring to the application for Deployment, which is entirely operate from Regimentla Membership. The process for Regimental Membership has not changed from the first post in this thread. Deployments are currently on hold until later in January as our two new Membership officers, Spacemeat and Commander Palmer, get up to speed and we make some adjustments to the Deployment process based on feedback from the first round of Deployments.

Not sure they are, Cadet - we've got a backlog of members who qualify for membership into their respective Regiments (90 days of membership, 50+ posts) who haven't been placed yet, regardless of Deployment status.

Cherry, Combinestrider asked about an "application system." There is not, nor has there been an "Aplication System" for Regimental Membership. The process has always been for members to post on this thread, their respective RMO confirms they meet the requirements for Regimental Membership, and passes their approval along to FANGS . This has not changed. The process remains the same regardless of the new Forum.

There was an actual application that had to be filled out for Deployment, which is on hold onto our new DMOs are ready to start back up.

Good morning folks! The process for getting in to a regiment has not changed. 50 posts and 90 days AND posting here starts the process for you. Once done, a Regiment Membership Officer will be in touch. After that, they will tell me you are ready to be added and I take care of that.

We do have a bit of a backlog at the moment caused by a lot of different things, mostly at the moment because I don't know how the heck to do this on the new forum yet. But we will get you all taken care of in due course.

Deployments which can happen AFTER you are part of a Regiment and you have an approvable costume, IS on hold for the time being. We will let everyone know when that is ready to be up and running once again.

Thanks to everyone for their patience!

Sry if I'm posting in an old form but been trying to get someone to let me in the southern reg. I currently live in El Paso any help would be great for future convention
Is the old application system done with? Anyway looking to get into the Southwest regiment please

Hello! To be added to a Regiment you need to have 50 posts and 90 days. Once you both have surpassed those two bench marks just post here again and we will get you sorted!

I would like to submit a request to join the Southern Regiment. Although I have not reached the 90-day mark yet, Chernobyl has kindly offered to vouch for me.

Hello, may I request to be put into the Australian Regiment.
Thanks in advance!

Um I would like to do one for Britain or England? I don't know how you would go about this

Hi,

would you mind placing me in the pacific regiment?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if I have a Type B membership, but I have the posts, and I've been a member since '07. I live in Kansas, and if I am able to be would love to be added to the Midwest Regiment.

Could I be placed in the Midwest regiment? I know I have the posts and I've been a member for over a year

For the rest of you, I'll get you taken care of as soon as I figure out this new system!

I have both covered already, being at about 69 last time I checked and being a member well over a year, and no rush of course :) New system is all kinds of confusing still haha
