RoadWarriors Mk V sculpt Wip. (Ultra Pic Heavy)

So I just received my Clay and Foam head and will start working after this post.

I need to go get some more tools specifically for sculpting in Chavant so I don't have to use my other clay tools I use for ceramic clay, but for now they'll do.

I will be starting with the helmet and working my way down.

20 LBs of clay.

I'll be using the Reach and Halo:CE Mk V as reference.

Now excuse me while I go and grab my Friction Tool.

Two quick tips to help you get started... First secure your foam head to a sturdy base. Second, to apply clay in bulk, heat the clay. GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks guys.

Pics of tonight progress, I need some tools :L

I have three things to say
1. RoadWarrior, stay out of my brain!!! Stop stealing my ideas stealer! Why you steal so much, eh?
2. It's about time someone did h1ce mc's mkV.
3 OH YEAH!!!!

So I grabbed some more ref pics and I noticed that The H:CE and Reach MK V aren't too different.

So this will be mixed with a higher ratio of Reach Mk V because of the high def-ness of it.

Is that a heat box thing you got going on there with the lamp? Also, what's with the metal screws in the clay there?

Seriously, before you get too much further, you should really secure that foam head to the base somehow. As you put on more clay it's going to get heavier and heavier, and will be much more likely to tip over.

Now I have to get back to my Friction Tool.

What is this "Friction Tool" you speak of?

Yeah it's a heat box, I know it's going to get heavier but for "blocking out" it's easier to work with off the table.

Also, I was using the screw as a stamp, to see how it looked.

Yo's, I've been back since Friday night, I'm just waiting for the visor to arrive before I resume blocking out the helmet.

I dunno, it seems kinda big :/ .

After fidgeting around with the image size I matched the above image's scale and made a new template cutout.

This is looking good. I'll have to keep checking this one for updates. A combination of Halo CE and Halo Reach is a cool idea. Most people just do one or the other.

Good call on the templating! Wish I'd done that for my helmet sculpt, it probably would have saved me lots of time!
