Picked up one of these a while ago before they became so popular and expensive. Was pretty happy it until I found a can of Rustoleum Colorshifting paint and when hmmmm..

So what the heck, lets give it a spray..

Dude, I think it looks pretty sick! I think you may be on to something with covenant weapons. Although I did look up that kind of paint and it said it could change to red as well depending on the light. I wonder how that would look...

That's green tape on there right? Are you planning on taking it off or leaving it on?

It's getting 2 coats of clear and a good polish before i pull the Frogtape off and detail the rest of the gun. I thought it was close to the game as well.

So painted the body and added a bit of weathering...still a few tweaks to go before I call it done.

Did you do something to the grip between the last update and now? Your previous picture of it looks like it has a satin sheen to it, wheras this most recent picture it looks almost like it's rubberized. Maybe it's just the lighting...

Looking pretty slick! I've always wanted to find a way to use the two-tone spray paints; this is a great application.

Yes I did, I tried to wax the grip to give it a bit more of a shine from use. I actually waxed some of the black off as you can see the blue coming through in the pics. I just gave it a fresh thicker coat of flat black. I'm also going to give that black part above the handle a shot of shifting paint as well.

Do you like the shine or the flat better???

With this color shift paint, what was your base coat? The original purple?

This paint requires a black base. I used flat black and it seemed to work just fine. The Galaxy Blue looks pretty good right out of the can, looks good in a satin but might lose just a bit with a polished clear...maybe. I just finished up all the detailing tonight and will post pics soon.
