  • Been a while since I've posted. In the last few years, I have been dealing with health issues. I'm officially medically retired and on SSI. At some point and time, I'm hoping to make a light weight foam suit, so that I can come out and hang with the rest of the group again. Until then, I wish everyone well and I look forward to seeing your builds.

    i am looking for a very simple set of templates to make some Master Chief armor for my son for halloween. I dont care if its from the first game or which ever one you may have. I need it simple as possible because my TBI makes it hard to process alot of overly complex patterns. Any help you can give me is most appreciated.

    Hey thorn i saw you mention polycrylic and cheese cloth as an alternative to fiberglass and resin, how strong does it hold up compared to fiberglass?"

    It is listed as the poor mans way, yes. It is a mid grade way of doing things. Mid grade meaning it is still flexible but hard enuff to pass the knock test. This method doesn't work well in hi heat and has a Slow cure time. But for people who are going cheap and/or are not able to work with toxic mat. it is away to do it.
    Best Methods to use.:)
    1.) Resin, Bondo, Rondo, Rondoglass, are the best way to go. Excellent way to go
    2.) Smoothcast 321 is the second best way. (Low order low fums) you can use this and not stink up the house.:cool:

Noble 6 W.I.P. build ---> http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/29935-Noble-Spartan-build
Spartans aren't born, they're built, thru blood, sweat, and tears. And maybe a little Fiberglass. ;)
