The ears are typically separate pieces that need to be glued afterwards. If you don't want to do the eye detail then don't do it. Its only for the aesthetic layered look like the real helmet has

Hey bud, The sharkmark helmet was designed to be just that.. Tedious but incredibly detailed. There is a less detailed and almost as accurate model here

That helmet is definitely intense, even for a veteran. Keep with it and make sure you have really clean folds and glues and you should be golden. If you want to try the less HD version, go for it
