Just a little bit. I need it to fit my skull, but I dont know how to scale at all. I'm not exactly built like a Spartan...

well duh :D

if you were wow youre big well anyways you see the number down at the bottom that says the dimensions well make it like 5 cm lower then go from there adding and subtracting hight

Reading stickies can be your best friend... try this... Post #7 contains a magical formula

Official Pepakura Scaling Thread

Edit:: Also, the number he's referring to is that on the bottom of the Pepakura Viewer or Designer is the Assembled height, width and length, so always try getting a ruler and approximating how big the finished project will be.

Hope that helps!

Edit Again: Haha, also check out this thread Tutorial: How to use Pepakura to make your Mjolnir Armor

It has some really low def files that you can hopefully use as size testers. They're easy to assemble and can give you a more accurate feeling for how big you want your helmet to be. :)

Thanks to everyone who posted. I have been to the scaling thread, yet never found it easy to decipher, til now.

Edit: I've been using the robogenesis one from the Wiki. I guess thats why my scaling screwed up. =P

I did the same helmet and I didn't use the scaling formula, I just tried to measure how tall I thought my head would be, haha, and I changed the assembled height to a few cm more than that. Luckily it came out pretty perfect. Good luck though!

Thanks again. I think I might just use this topic for my WIP when I start getting more of my armor worked on.

well, if you are like me and have a big head... for my helmet to go on and off easily it looks a little big (even with a lot of trimming on the bottom hole). You know those adjustable caps... I have to have it on the largest setting...

You can look at it this way... now you have experiencw with pep ^^;

My first suit was Robogenesis' Lo-Def harness. I never had a problem cuz the default scaling is set to 86 inches which is awesome cuz all you need to do is put in your height +2 to get it right the first time. Never had a problem with Robo's stuff.

Okay, in 5 hours last night I created a brand new (and phenomenally better) Mark 6 helmet, scaled down 10% of the original. I think this might be the magic number here.

I believe this is the size I am going for, if not should I scale it down more?

Well,

How easy is it to get on and off? granted you can trim the opening, but if it goes on and off without even touching your ears odds are its a little big.

It's fairly easy to get on and off, but it does take some care not to rip it. I dont want it ti be too small though.

Got my right shoulder done :3 Working on the right forearm now.
I had made a high def shoulder, but it was a slight bit big.

I would scale it down more, it is massive lol. Whats the cm size in the pep designer?

Too big, yupyup.

Most people go for a helm ranging from 26cm to 28/29cm. You'll need to mess around with the sizes in that range, although personally I never found anything wrong with taking an approximate measurement of your head from the chin to the crown of your skull, then adding, say one and a half centimetres.

If the helmet turns out way too big I'll remake it after all the armor is done. I think after I am completely done, I will post the scale of every piece later so other people my size can just look at mine. But how does the shoulder look?

Try another shot with less dark clothes so we can see properly. The shoulder bottom needs to be just above your elbow and the top of the Mk VI plate needs to go just above your shoulder, in line with your collarbone if you straighten your shoulders out.

All I have is my crappy webcam, so thats the best I can get at the moment. Due to the fact there is no padding and I have low muscle mass in my arm, I had to hold it at an angle to keep it from falling off.
