3D Effects?

So after all my research im finally in the misdts of making my first foam costume. Im looking at it and I think it needs some detail. So I was wondering what are some ways to add some 3D to it? I know theres the raise effect but im not the best at it. Im looking for something in stores. Im in canada by the way any help is appricated thanks!
