Hi all, just thought I'd throw up some picks of my Magneto helmet. It still hasnt been painted. I moved to australia from Ireland recently so work has been halted until i get one of my cast versions sent over.
My helmet started out life as one of DB's fantastic pep files(a big thank you DB!) Which i resin coated and then added bondo.
After a lot of trial and error (and bondo!) I got it to the stage below. Just the trim to go... or so i thought
This is the final version which was cast. I'm pretty happy with the dimensions. I used lots of blueray images and used measurements from photoshop using fassbender's PD(pupil distance).
And finally the first molded helmets. Pic 1 is the first silicone layer... hopefully I'll be able to make a new mold soon over here.
And my first pulls from the mold. These helmets are made from an outer gel coat layer with 2 fibreglass layers on the inside, so they are very solid!
