I saw something in a can today that said Bondo Fiberglass filler. Would that work as fiberglass on the inside of the armor or something?

I believe this was it

No. You can put bondo in the inside of your armor, if you pleased. But when they say fiberglass filler, it means it "Fills" the fiberglass dents, holes, impurities. If i were you, just spray paint the inside or primer it, and pad it. Best of luck

Actually thats what im using on the outside of my helmet in place of regular bondo, It works great and is not that hard to sand. As for placing on the inside it will be hard to work in andsand most of your Spots you will be better off using actual fiberglass cloth or the plastic method. I have some pics in My thread if you wanna stop by and take a Look at youll see the stuff its green on my helmet. as well as the can on page three in my supplies listing.

best of luck, Looking forward to seeing your completed project.

Normal bondo has talc powder and a few other powder based fillers to make it thicken and hold shape more easily. That kind of filler uses milled glass fibers (glass fiber that is only 1-3/32" long). The milled fibers will make it stronger once dry, but harder to sand than regular bondo. Some resins also thin out just before hardening and will actually cause milled fibers to sag. When using fiber filler its best to also mix in some regular powder filler like silica or talc to help it retain shape and keep the resin from running out.

All of that said it would work ok in place of bondo, but it will not replace regular fiberglassing. It will work ok for mudglassing though.

Here are the products I used.
