[ENGLISH] French below!
Hello there! Please read the below information carefully, there is a lot of important points!

2024 is quickly approaching and this time, we are trying hard to be prepared earlier! SO, this is a ROLL CALL! We need to know who wants to staff at the booth for Montreal comiccon 2024! PLEASE fill up the form as soon as possible, as we need to provide the con with an exact badge number we'll need! It would be awesome if we could get a final answer from everyone before the end of 2023! Feel free to write to Zachary , me or WZProps if you have any questions!

FILL THE FORM: Be a part of the 405th booth

Please don’t forget, having an exhibitor Badge is a privilege. It gives us certain special access and perks that regular attendees do not have.
With that in mind, here are the requirements to join the booth staff:
  • You must be a member of the 405th.
  • You must have read the 405 event rules & the 405th Costuming Club Mantle and understand the rules and responsibility of representing the club in an official capacity
  • You must be 18+ or 16+ with a parent staff member. (children under 16 are not allowed on show floor by the conventions before its open to general public)
  • You must participate in either of these 2 roles: Costumed staff or Group Handler staff (or a mix of both).
  • You must be present and staffing the booth for at least 1 full day*.
*As mentioned above, free badges are limited, therefore, we will prioritize handing them out to members staffing the most days at cons.

Little reminder, a voluntary monetary contribution from staff members during the weekend will be highly appreciated. These contributions will go towards paying for necessities for the group during an event, such as beverages, food/snacks, etc… You’re welcomed to give the amount of your choice, but we established that $20 is a good base that should get us covered. If there is excess funds after an event concludes, they will go back directly into the booth, either to purchase additional supplies or fund projects.

Handlers needed: 2 per day minimum

Salut!

REMPLISSEZ LE FORMULAIRE: Be a part of the 405th booth

Ooooh I am interested in coming! Now, I would have work until 3pm on friday, but I could technically make the 8 hour drive that night and have all day saturday and the first half of sunday to enjoy the con! Is it a problem if I don't speak french? Like, not a lick of french. I could try and brush up on the basics before coming of course, but I don't know how useful it would be. Is anyone booking a hotel that I could crash at? I'd be happy to pay for my portion of course. I don't take up much space :)

Mark me down as tentative for now, I hope to have a definitive answer for you soon...

Oh you don't need to learn French at all. Learning the basis could help for sure but ur good even without it. We have some regulars staffing that don't know French so don't worry! And worsttt case some other staff like me, Zach and Wz can help :) currently for hotels we're reviewing who needs a spot. Wz and I have a room booked from Thursday to Monday. We'll keep you posted!

If you could still fill the form please I will mark you as an unsure and you could confirm later :)

Form filled out. So long as I can split a hotel room with somebody, mark me down as confirmed! I plan to get in to town late friday night. I'll spend all day Saturday at the con, and sunday morning as well. I'll head out just after noon on sunday to make the 8.5 hour drive home.

Thanks man, added you to my list^^
Just to be completely honest tho, I think that most people coming to staff won't be coming just for a day, so it might be hard to find roomies to share a hotel room with. Most of us are there from Thursday night to Monday, so it wouldn't make sense to share a hotel with someone with a different plan. However, we never know maybe someone could offer you a spot at their house if you are willing to drive Saturday :)
Also please note, considering you are offering a full day only of shift, I'm not sure if we will be able to provide you with a badge. We will prioritize the staff that will be present the most days first for sure :)

Alrighty that's fair. I have family in Ottawa so I might just crash at their place instead of bothering with a hotel.

I understand that there are a limited number of badges, but be sure to let me know if the con offers more badges than there are members so I can get one! If all the badges are accounted for then no worries. Just let me know either way. Or let me know if they offer a discount code for groups that have more members than badges.

For Montreal comiccon, I'd suggest looking at their website listed in the first post. They should have discounts, but I think it's still too early for them to list them. Otherwise, I normally book from Expedia if there's better deals. I recommend the Holiday Inn, the Intercontinental, the Dauphin and the Double tree. I tried them all, loved them all and are more reasonable in terms of price. 477$ a night is crazy expensive O_O

477$ each for the whole stay its not per night, total is like 1400$ split 3 ways comes down to about 477$ each

Ok much better XD Which hotel is it actually? There's no Hilton close to the con center. There's Hampton Inn, DoubleTree and Homewood Hotel BY Hilton, are those the ones you are talking about?

Hey, so it looks like it is very probable that I am going to make it. Most likely going to attend Fri afternoon and the whole day Sat and Sun. Just to plan ahead, are there any passes still available and what are other people doing for accommodations?

Hey! We should be able to provide you a pass, yes. We always prioratize people that comes the most days so it should be doable. Accomodations wise, right now we have Luciferdawns looking for a room and N8TEBB too, but for Friday and Saturday only. I invite you guys to chat :) Otherwise, you could possibly talk to Zachary and Felipe06 to see if they had more options for you :)

I'll be rooming with WZProps Schankerz NewBrody but our room is at max capacity and we're staying Thursday to Monday.

Not entirely sure what I’m doing for accommodations. I’m probably only able to come for the Saturday. I may be in Ottawa with family and just commute in for the day. If that doesn’t work out I might find a hostel or something

hey N8TEBB and Pixelcube I can host 2 people at my place (im 35 minutes from the palais des congrès off island) and i wouldnt mind having people over, i used to have Schankerz and NewBrody 2 years ago and just brody last year (but they seem to have ditched hotel zach this year haha) only thing worth noting is that i dont have spare matresses or beds, so you guys would need to bring sleeping bags and matresses. furthure more i have a very cuddly cat, so if either one of you guys are allergic its not ideal.
let me know, we can always communicate over discord or IG if it would be faster
