Hey guys. I started and finished a carter pepakura during the fall semester and it has been sitting on my shelf for the past few months. I'd like to get some work done on it, but I keep procrastinating. I am now operating under the motivation of, if I've shown someone and set forth a goal for the day to get something done on it, I might be able to get it finished in a proper time frame. So here is progress thus far. My goal for tomorrow is to get it resined section by section to rectify the spots that are needs a boost.

I would say that the size looks fine. Great pep you've got there. Keep going, I'd love to see it finished.

Yeah, its the angle. I can put it on and it will fit just about right with some padding.

Okay. Almost didn't make my goal for today. But here is this evenings progress. Tomorrow's goal is to get it rondo'd sufficiently to begin the sanding process.

Ahh, lovely lovely resin. If I ever do this helmet over again, I will definately use this file as it is much more accurate than the one I used originally.
Again Drgon47, looking good. Keep it up.

That's defiantly some nice pepping and resining you've done. Looks like you know what you're doing. Goodjob :)

Worked from 8am till 2pm. Here are some progress pictures. First I began rondoing the helmet. Once cured, I mixed up a special industrial CNC machine paint with some hardener and started spraying. Helmet took about a quart of paint. The deal with the paint is, it adds a decent amount of material, while the hardener makes it act like sprayable bondo. Easier to work with then bondo, and a primer at the same time. After lunch I started after the helmet with some 60 grit sandpaper. Started working on getting things evened up and smoothed out. It's now well over 100°F outside, so I'm gonna take a break till tonight when it gets back to the 90's. Pics after the jump.

Your helmet is turning out really well! You did a great job with pepping it. You must love that spray on bondo/primer...cuts your work down in half.

So this morning I started doing some bondo work to fill in some of the larger gaps. As soon as Im happy with that I will start to use spot putty to fill in the pock marks left by the paint gun. Overall I think its coming along nicely. After the bit of bondo I did this morning, I gave it a quick spray of sand-able black primer to start identifying the spots I need to pay attention to. Staring at only grey starts to play tricks on your eyes after awhile.

Your helmet is coming along quite nicely. Your pep work is top notch too. I will definitely be watching this.

Done working for the day. Another 6 hours on it, and I have moved on to 150 grit paper. Tomorrow will herald more primer, final bondoing, and lastly spot putty. That will take most of tomorrows time, but maybe I can get all the sanding done tomorrow. Managed to also cut out the visor and throw my old MK VI visor in just for grins.

I'm really enjoying following your work. I'm at about the same point in my build right now so its nice to see how some one else is tackling the challenge. The primer, body filler mix is a great idea. I'd be all over that if I had a paint gun to work with. Keep up the work, its looking great.

You're helmet is coming along great. I like how you'er going about the build that spray has got to be nice to have around. Keep us posted.
