Foam COMPLETED ONI Operative/ODST Armor!

I have been playing Halo 3 ODST on the MCC, and I like Dare's armor, so I want to make my own version of course! Like always, I am a foam junkie, so it will be an all foam build, and it will be a custom/concept style of her armor. Some pics will describe it better.

This is a concept that uses the ODST Torso with the lower part of the ODST shoulders. So that's my base model and inspiration. And believe it or not I'm not a big fan of the Recon bucket, so I will use my favorite, Halo Reach Commando! Yes, yes I know it's a Spartan helmet, but check this out.

Cool, right? I will even adopt the Ma37 suppressed for it too, I might get some flak, but hey, my build but anyway that's the current plans, time to build!

And here is another concept of Dare, which is what I am building, except the bucket.

I will be using mostly ODST pepakura files and unfolding Dare's assets (that sounded dirty) to get her cool looking shoulder straps! Also a better unfold of her "stomach plate" the current one is too simple for my tastes. So just imagine this but with a Commando bucket, and a suppressed Ma37(cough M40 nerf)

Got some high density foam from a cosplay supply shop, that's how serious I am about this build! I usually use Harbor Freight, but lately their foam has either been too thin or have too many "air bubbles" so been scaling all the pieces and unfolding game assets.

Made some progress on my base chest, the back, neck, and straps so far, ran out of daylight sooooo, some more tomorrow. Also slightly pic heavy. Be warned.

Haven't had the proper weather but today it's like 60ish, so got alot done. I attached the base torso and just finished the spine plate. Waiting for more foam to come in to do the chest piece and ab plate, soooo here some progress of what is done.

Oh I also deleted the collar that was on the torso and made a custom collar that fits closer to my actually neck to prevent my bucket from "clipping" the original collar. And here is the spine plate.

And next I will attached the spine plate to the torso.

Also my foam came in! Working on the cool torso piece of Dare's ONI armor.
It's going to look awesome, I just unfolded game assets for accuracy! I'll post some pics when more of it is built

Here is a prototype for the weird green dome.

And here is an ornament I plan to use, i got two half pieces to experiment with, maybe paint one green and try green lights on the other.

I finished up the "torso" piece, I'm satisfy with it, so next is the chest, working on unfolding it, the current one is not beefy enough for me, but here is progress of the torso and then the finished product.

Anyway that's the completed, I got 2 ornaments, I'm going to paint one and light up the other and see which one I like. Unfold of the chest piece is almost done, just making it easier for foam.

This is V1 of my chest plate, too thin for my taste and some how the left side is too wide and the right side is too tall, maybe I will ask Dirtdives2424 how this happened, he has loads of experience at doing that, anyway I just took a quick snapshot, I like my "scoring" job on it at least.

I will be using a different file for v2.

Alright, got V2 of the chest plate done-ish, here is the progress pics.

And all of that turned into this with help with my favorite sanding brick of all time.

And the chest looks good but it's missing a like a half cylinder thingy, I post a pic of it in a minute. But here is my progress so far.

The silver cylinder thing is what I'm tackling next, directly attached to the bottom of the chest plate. Soooooo later!

I have attempted to make it out of foam about three times so far, I'm just going to get a foam dowel, hmmm next piece is, no idea yet, maybe the shoulder strap armor piece thingy
