Creating Halo Reach Armor and body suit for under halo armor

I'm still new here but I've found the blueprints of the Halo armor that I want to make but I really don't know how to make it as far as doing it step by step and I don't really know what materials are needed aside from using cardstock paper to print the armor pieces out on. I also don't how to attach the completed armor pieces to the under suit. Any help from a veteran halo armor builder would be nice but anyone that is in the process of building their own armor would also be a big help.

Hi and welcome to the 405th. There is a lot of information around, but I'd suggest you start by:

That's a start only. There is lots more reading required! Have fun learning!

don't forget to read all the stickies on the noob forum. It's honestly the best advice we can give to all you new modelers.

Follow those links N6/Sierra-312 and you'll do well. Although I think you're already off to a good start by asking for help before you start as opposed to along the way. Good luck.

Thank you for your help wowhaza and alix965. I hope that when I finally get a printer that I can use to print out the blueprints, and gather the supplies I need to do the work, all the information you have both given to me will be of very big help. Thanks again.

Now I need an image of Noble Six so that I can scale my armor to it. Does anyone have an image of noble six from head to toe standing straight up?

Not really sure, but the Reach trailer might contain a few such shots.

However, I personally am not a big fan of this scale factor method you're attempting. I'd rather collect several reference shots, look where each piece of armour is located relative to body features and then scale each piece independently to your body so it fits in the same way.

Thanks for the help. I'm sure by now that everyone can tell that I'm a very new newb on here.

It's okay to be a newb an ask questions. That's what we are all here for. Most people will direct you to the stickies, where you will learn more about making the armor, in addition to helpful pictures that are a visual reference to what it should look like along the way. Reading through other newb builds is invaluable, as you can learn about what they did right and wrong, and make adjustments along the way.

Welcome to the 405th. Feel free to ask questions, but please use the necessary safety equipment for your projects. You can fix a broken part, but you can't fix broken lungs.

Welcome to the 405th!

Good luck with your build.

Cheers!

Thanks LongShot. I really liked your armor and the time you took to show everyone else the time and steps you took to get everything just right. I hope to see more pictures of any improvements you make to your armor.

Ok so I've been finding pictures of Noble Six, but most of them are of figure in head to toe shots. I'm trying to use Extreme Tactics 101 scaling method that I learned about from him but the hard part is knowing if I'll be able to use the photos of the figure in the scaling method.

I also tried using the Halo Reach trailer from the game to find a go picture of Six standing straight up but I really didn't see one that was a head to toe shot. If anyone has a better way to help me scale my armor to me I'm all for it. The only problem I can foresee in the somewhat distant future is the fact that I wear glasses and I don't know if that will prevent me from wearing the helmet correctly. Any help with this is really needed.

Your glasses will be fine. All the motorcycle riders in the UK still wear their glasses under helmets that are a tighter fit than costume helmets.

You could try scaling by measuring for each part? There's a thread somewhere in the stickies I think.

Ok, so how would I go about scaling each part of the armor? This is the first time I've ever done this. I didn't even know this site or the blueprints for halo armor existed until a few days ago.

Ok so I just made a really interesting discovery the other day. I realized that the scaling method I want to use isn't going to work because I plan to use two different armor types together.

So does anyone have a different scaling method that I can use? Just so everyone knows, I'm going to make the Reach armor using the ODST helmet and shoulder armor.

Ok so this is the first piece of armor I've started pepping. I know its not an actual armor piece, but I figured that I would try pepping for practice and I choose to use Carter's helmet attachment as a practice piece. I have to admit, its not as hard as I thought it would be.

Nice work.
Keep in mind for the helmets that if you work from one side to another it may turn out slightly warped. Just work evenly and you should have a perfect pep.

I actually had that same piece as the first piece of reach armor I built. But I had already done a MK VI suit.
I ended up not even needing it, but I made it incase, cuz im buildin alot of reach helmets to go with the suit

Thanks for the encouragement. I've actually finished it I just don't have any pictures of it yet. The only thing that I thought was a pain was the fact that I used a glue-stick instead of a hot-glue gun.
