First Post wooh!! For comic con I decided to go as Lord Saladin from destiny, this was my first full armor build and oh boy did I learn a lot (especially the heat). Overall it was a great learning experience and makes me want to build a warlock suit. Below will be the finished suit along with any progress shots I might've gotten.
Hope you guys enjoy!
I started off with patterning out the chest piece in multiple layers of EVA foam all free hand so sorry no templates.
Here is a pic of the suit before all painted up for test fitting.
For the paint process I used a mix of things from 50/50 rubber cement to naptha with oil based paints for the base for flexibility then just decided to use metallic Tamiya paint over the armor.
The axe was fabricated the same way and was probably the best part of this build especially being able to bop people in the head with it.
The helmet was originally going to be molded and casted but after sculpting it and molding it there was a curing problem so I had to speed build a new helmet 3 days before the con. Happy with how it came out but would die from the heat within a minute..
Walking the floor was super fun but could only last in that suit for a few hours max, also saw some amazing armor that blew me away!
If you guys have any questions about anything or feedback would love to hear it to improve anything! thanks for looking!
