Alright, so I'm extraordinarily interested in creating my own armor here, but I'm a pretty big guy. I'm the one all the way on the left.

I'm 6'2", 250 lbs. I'm afraid that this armor would look ridiculous on me.
Are there known solutions that remedy my weight problem? I'm not exactly huge, but large enough to look awkward.

Thanks!

Pressure suit. It will help bulk up your chest, and you can tighten it to suck in that gut. Actually, you might look better in armor than I do. I'm pretty skinny, and the armor just doesn't look quite right on me.

Dude, you don't have to worry about looking overweight in armor...you'll be fine man. I'm only 5'6" but I weigh 180 lbs. but my normal height/weight should be 165 at the most, but I think I look alright in armor.

No, you will look fine. You will just use less padding is all. If anything it will look more natural because your body is more filled out. Spartans are big people.

Yeah man, you look pretty good.

That's true, thanks for the confidence boost. :D

im 195 lbs and 6 foot tall and i look fine in my armor. the thing about spartan armor is that we dont have to put anything around the spare tire that composes are abdomen area so it doesn't stand out lol. since the chest and arms will have the bulkier armor pieces the lower half of our body will look slimmer. just make sure everything is scaled and proportioned correctly on ur body ie dont make a chest that is riducously large.

Good tip.

ALRIGHT, new question.

I've got a large dome, i wear an XL in most hat sizes, and it's roughly 23.75 inches (60 cm) around. Will the pep models here fit that? Or will I have to search for larger than normal helmets?

They're right. Spartans are big people. No matter what armor your do, if you want to build armor, then build armor. :)

The way the Pepakura models are measured is by height/width/depth in centimeters. So, if you measure the side of your head from nose to back for the depth, then measure your head from ear to ear for the width, finally from the top of your head to down below your chin for height, you should be able to narrow down your helmet size. IMO, you'll have no problems fitting in a helmet since they are usually modeled for someone 5'6" to 6"6" in height. Just make sure to leave some room for padding and cooling fans.

It doesn't matter what size your dome is, you can scale the file to what ever size you need. And FYI, you would probably make a great Jorge. Jus sayin.

Thanks for all the tips! And I would try Jorge if I could do a British accent that was worth a damn, lol.

I thought Jorge had a New Zealand or Australian accent.

Anyway, you dont have to build someone from the game. You can build your own custom suit.

What I want to do is make ODST Reach shoulders, stock chestplate, RECON Helmet, and a Jetpack. With all the other basic NOBLE 6 gear, obviously.

Off-topic: Jorge is "Hungarian", or at least speaks it in the game.

On topic: Don't worry about your size, you're not that overweight. I've seen photos of larger people wearing Spartan armor, and they pull it off fine for the most part.

Yeah, that's because he "grew up" on Reach, where most of the non-military population was Hungarian in descent. But I have NFC about his accent, except that I'm crappy at all accents (except Westminster, for some reason I can pull that off.)

Not sure of my weight in lbs, but from the looks of it I'm around the same size as yourself, possibly a little bigger tbh ;)

I found that breathing in, sucking in the gut and having someone wrap an entire roll of duct-tape round me from just below my ribs to about my belt line as tight as they could and then put my suit on over the top of that really helped ;)

Here's the result!

Afraid I haven't got any pics of the undersuit / tape corset that are any good... but out of the armour I look like this, so you can see the difference it makes

That is extremely legit. And my girlfriend has a stomach compressing thingy that I could use. It's elastic and spandex, so the fact that she's half my size won't make a difference.

You make that armor yourself?

Trust me, the bigger you are, the better most look in spartan gear. Full size spartans are rare and most gawk at them like they are some deity. It'll be something you want to be the center of, like going to the carnival for the first time in your life.

That could well work out for you! :D

And yup, it's my first build, Sarge from RvB. It's kinda shoddy tbh lol
