Hello from Germany guys.

i want to build the Full Spartan boots from http://www.405th.com/f14/official-halo-reach-pepakura-files-thread-24086/
but i want to know how to Tie my boots with the Armor over it ? is it even possible or do i have to let them untied and Slip out the whole day?

i hope you understand what i mean :)

best Wishes

Patrick

I'd consider using a pair of gym shoes instead of boots, and fix them into your armour boot permanently, rather than trying to fiddle with removing an inner from your armoured boot after the day.

so you mean slip in tie them up and slip out? doesn´t sound very comfortable but i will try it.

thanks a lot

No. I mean that you should forget about laces entirely and use shoes that don't use laces. I personally will be using a pair of flat gym pumps, glued permanently into the armoured boot, so that I can wear the entire thing as one piece instead of having to remove the shoe afterwards.

Here's an image of what I intend to use:

Guten tag.

That's about the limit of my knowledge of the German language, so I'll carry on in Yankese. lol. If you are intent on using boots, you could also consider incorporating a hinge or "clam shell" mechanism to close around the boot after it's laced up. If you're using the boots specifically for the armor and don't mind any permanent modifications, you could do something similar to Arcanine's suggestion with the back and sides of the shin and shoe portions of the armor attached, and have the front of the shin and top of the shoe portions either hinged or fully detachable so you can access the laces and then snap those armor pieces back in place. Having the armor physically attached to the boots will also help prevent it from slipping or turning as you move around.

I'm using heavily modified PVC gumboots because they had a cool pattern on the outside. And I'll be fixing the armour parts onto the outside permanently similar to the way Arcanine is.

What I am planning to do is to buy a pair of tall rubber boots (like this) and permanently attaching my shin pieces to it for an ODST suit. I plan on using a more expensive pair of boots, but the quality shouldn't matter very much if you are just using them for under your armor.
