welcome fellow 405th members,
g0dless here, and T H I S is my first venture in to armor building and before i begin i want to give thanks to everyone here for all the files, support, inspiration and advice a n00bie like myself could ever ask for.

and i must give credit where credit is due
my armor pieces and their status are as follows

------------fiberglassed:
``Halo: Reach carter helm by A1TD - EARLY VERSION - this brought me trouble and was used mainly as a base and i re did quite a few elements of it and its still a work in progress

------------pep'd about to be resin'd
``carter shoulders by carpathiavh99
``carter's chest attachments - also by carpathiavh99 but this may be scrapped for a custom build with fabric pockets as its too large for my downscaled chest
``Reach Spartan III bulk Armor zip by rundown [unfold by B.mc]

------------still searching or peping
``AB PLATE - acenat's emailing me this soon :] the piece was missing from rundown's chest piece
``carter forearm by Rhinoc - Unfolded by HaloGoddess
and i will probably be using his boot file as well
``hand plate - by Ruze789 - just printed
``not sure about how i want to do the knife - if im going to use a real one i have laying around which looks mighty similar or pep and make one.

pictures after the break

As you can see, the helmet gave me a bit of trouble on the nose section.
When i first resin'd it, it was a sloppy job [noobie mistake]
It caved inwards and i reshaped it with tons of bondo;
unfortunately i did the shaping wrong because the reference images i had at the time were of poor quality for a front view, i had almost given up due to lack of free time but
with all the new images and viDOCs coming out and tons of inspiration from other builds,
im working on re bondo-ing the crap out of it and dremeling out the details im missing

why yes, yes i did
and thanks again for the file
after i get some sleep i'll be peping that today and adding it to the PILE! of stuff to be resin'd :cool
and i also took your previous advice about the pressure suit and found a really good looking one that seems like a good match, its all black and has minimal shoulder and elbow pads that dont look like they're going to interfere with the armor being layered over it

:D:D pay day is friday and ill be ordering that, a motorcycle visor, and tactical repel gloves :D:D

huge update

alright so i now have everything glassed, and roughly sanded.
i started bondo-ing everything and getting each detail pretty good. and had hopes of making it to the reach release. at the rate i was working it was going to be close but i could have pulled it off.

but then my last day at my old dept.store job was over, and i ninja'd my way out with something FANTASTIC! my copy of the game!
so instead of building and working on my carter suit - ive been playing campaign and having a blast with friends in LAN parties.

NO SPOILERS but if your a fan of the novels, they you may be quite disappointed with this game. the story is fantastic if you throw out several elements from the books, don't get me wrong, but bungie has always said that EVERYTHING is cannon. but then on their last game, the just say -BLAM- you to their fans. pump out a 1/2 ass story and then focus on matchmaking. which is great and all . . . but the story opens too many plot gaps while answering no real questions and leaving you filled with more than you can handle.

again not reallly a spoiler if you keep up with the official bungie videos, but Dr. halsey is on a first name basis with SIII's . . .
