GI Joe 2 Roadblock armor

hey 405th!!!

so for this halloween i am making a Roadblock costume inspired by the GI Joe Retaliation movie. I will be posting pictures tomorrow as i start making the vest piece. I have just recently bought the vest and will be using eva foam for the armor pieces. I am excited for this build because it will be the first that i am putting on the site for people to see! hope you guys enjoy the process.

so this is some of the items i am gonna be using for my build..

so heres the vest which i will be using i am cutting most of the pockets off for the eva foam armor pieces to fit just right. you can buy any black vest at all really (but i chose one with wider shoulder straps because in the movie they are quite wide).

so this leg holster is pretty similar to the ones i have now. try and find a very cheap one because they virtually all look the same however different brands do run higher in their pricing.

that is all the images for today i will be posting tomorrow the finished vest with all the pockets removed. didnt get a chance to do it today because midterms are coming so gotta get that study on!!!

you you could have bought a plain vest with no pockets from an airsoft wedsite.

ok guys so heres the vest without any pockets. it was actually really fast taking them off with a box cutter. within the next couple of days i am gonna be adding more straps and eva foam armor pieces to it. pictures will be up in the next couple of days! thanks guys wish me luck

Some fun trivia, it looks like GI Joe Retaliation might be using the same armorers as Transformers 3, the vest looks a lot like the TF3 vest with the panels switched out:

Just a heads up, if you want a 100% accurate costume, Multicam will end up being the most expensive part of your costume. Surplus stores sell this thing at 200% of the retail price, because there is a HUGE demand for them at the moment. I would recommend getting Chinese cloned Multicam (cheaper), but the trade off is that it's not as durable, and the color fades quicker. If you're lucky you can score a few cheap, authentic sets off ebay.
