This probably comes as no surprise since I had taken a step back from the 405th last year due to mistreatment I endured from some members, but it is now time for me to leave the 405th officially.
For some time, I have not felt safe or comfortable among the ranks of the Pacific Regiment due to unsettling comments and actions made by existing members either directly or indirectly. The incident involving Pride confirmed what I already knew about certain members and opened the door for them to feel emboldened in their harmful views against the LGBTQ+ community. I also faced issues not only as a member of the LGBTQ+ community but also as a disabled cosplayer.
That all being said, my love of Halo and cosplay shall never be squashed. Many of those whom I've met in the 405th are wonderful and kind people and I hope that I can continue to share my love of Halo with them. Thank you for all the support I received during my cosplay endeavors shared in the forums.
