Halloween 2020 Costumes

I haven't posted anything on my current builds in a while. So instead of doing that I'm am posting a new build thread for my boys Halloween costumes. They will be Nightwing and Robin.
Masks are already assembled and just need clean up, seal and paint.

My oldest is going to be Nightwing. I partially wrapped and Duct taped him to start making some templates for the body armour. Dude is a freaking toothpick.

My youngest will be Robin. I will make his costume relativily simple. Going make a tunic out 2 mm or 3 mm foam and braces then sew up a Cape.

I don't know yet. I might but I'm really itching to wear my Monster Hunter World suit as a test run since I haven't done a complete suit up with it yet.

Smol update time. Nightwing body armour has begun.

I still to shape the body a bit and add more panels and Nightwing's logo.

Looking good. Pretty sweet you build your kiddos a new costume for Halloween each year. Enjoy it while you can they grow up fast and pretty soon they’ll think superhero’s and halo aren’t cool anymore.

I'm raising my boys properly. My oldest and I were playing H5 on co op. Then he went ahead and finished himself. The whole time he didn't know he was playing Heroic difficulty. Now we're going through MCC. We've already finished Reach and started CE. When the young one is old enough he's going to go through the same thing.

He plays BLOPS whenever we visit his cousins, only because they have a PS4. Fortnite... That name is not allowed to be uttered in this house. Lol.

Another small update. Body armour is almost complete. Added some small details and panels on the back. Some adjustments are needed though. The chest is very flat. Need to do some surgery to fix that and lots of heat shaping to round it out.
Buckles will be added and then I am mulling over weather to paint the Nightwing logo on or use 2mm foam to add another layer of detail.

I think the nightwing logo would look better as another layer of 2mm detail, myself. That's just my 2 bits.

Adjusted the chest plate so it's not just a flat piece of foam.

Also cut out the Nightwing emblem details.

The back plate is still an eye sore. So I'm ripping it apart to rework it.

I am also trying LePage contact cement as an alternative to Barge. I am not happy with it. Curing time is 15 min before bonding parts together and it needs at least two coats on each part when applying to foam.
The bond with foam isn't ideal either. It pulls apart cleanly with some effort. With Barge it would tear before coming apart.
