Halo forward unto dawn questions

Aye guys. Basically this thread is for my personal question. In the forward unto dawn series what is their armour made of. Is it hardened plastic or something else. Anyone with insite into any live action trailers and what they use on the suits. It has baffled me for a long time. So any help would be great. Cheers.

And what about the weapons? Another question ive been pondering whilst the sites been marked on google. Are they just cast with some parts made to work or is it basically a replica gun without a firing pin? Thoughts?

The weapons are props made just like most of our builders here have made. The "firing" of the weapons is entirely CGI. The lights on the sides and the ammo counters are built into the prop, as well as a moving trigger, but they are still simply props.

I figured. Cause ive heard some rumours that working ma5's were floating around. What would you say the most likely used to make them? Cause justanian-117 i think it is is doing it one great way and they dont look like wood to me?

There is actually one functioning ma5 in youtube, i just seen it the other day, but its semi auto and shoots 22 cal. ammo i believe. its 4 am here so idk im tired. :p

I have a question regarding the uniforms. It looks like they zip up on both sides, but the zippers look really strange, almost like they are upside down and have the pulls taken off of them... is that the case?

Also, amazing work with the overall story. The fact that I was cursing at the end of Episode 3 because of the cliffhanger is a complement. Also, the CGI of the attack sequence (i.e. the firing on the tether) was very well done. My complements to your Visual FX department.

they zip down (neck to waist) it seem you can indeed unzip either (or both sides) there are times (when they are hangin around the dorm) you notice the middle section completely gone meaning you can unzip it and take it out completely. As for the pulls i truly haven't found an image clear or close enough to see if they are still there

Detracting from the armor/prop topic for a personal question and some observations of my own of the series so far:

From what I can tell, in part 3, S104 aka Frederic 104 (the Spartan in the freeze-frame, also is John 117's team leader) seems to also be the original Noble 6 that you replaced on Reach based on his armor and helmet configuration, which leads me to assume that he died in that ODST/Covie/Insurrectionist/Spartan fight in that episode. Correct me if I'm wrong? Maybe I'm just jumping the gun before part 4 and 5, but thats what I've gathered so far.

That, and Lasky's mom was obviously reading a script when telling him of his older brothers death, which also gives the assumption that his brothers death was faked to get him into the Spartan IV program (Spartan IV's were mostly adults that had previous combat experience, so since Lasky Sr was mentioned to have been one of the best ODST's to come out of Corbulo Academy, it makes sense). Maybe he will make a cameo in an upcoming part?

I think this isn't true - it didn't sound like a script - it just sounded cold and uncaring, which, from some of the background info gleaned from some of the other vids Lasky's brother sent, is just the way she is.

I'm thinking that Lasky's brother is actually dead - could be wrong - but that's my understanding of it.

In Reach, Noble 6 was added as a replacement to Thom 293, not Frederic 104. There are actually two other spartans with John, as seen in this behind the scenes pic...

They are both wearing Mk V style armor, (with a few modifications on each one, Kelly 087 has an upside-down ODST center stomach place at her abdomen while Frederic appears to be wearing an upside-down ODST fanny pack on his abdomen), which is the similar style armor that Thom wore in Delivering Hope. It will be interesting to see the fate of these two.

It was, but if you watch her eyes as she reads it (the camera even zooms in on them) you can tell she's distracted by something. Seems almost too calm to be saying her son just died. Maybe she is that cold, but I think it's still a script :p

It could be that she was reading a script because he had died during a Covenant attack. ONI knew she would have to tell her son, but they also couldn't let her talk about the Covenant. So, that might be why she was reading the statement. As for the uncaring nature, it might have been her personality or the fact that she was upset over having to lie to her son.

You've got to remember, though, she's an officer in the UNSC. She's probably simply reading an incident report or a pre-written statement as an attempt to maintain her composure and military bearing. The CO of the base in the movie seems to hold Laskey's mother in very high regard, meaning that she has a reputation.

The fact that you can see here eyes moving as though she's reading something seems like it was done on purpose to me; it was too obvious and the director would have easily caught that.

though out the whole time when Lanksy's dorm mate was unencrypting the video i was waiting for the cam to pan left and right and show Lansky's older brother's death and fade out just after his death by energy sword

as for lanksy's mother reading a script... think less "script" and more prepared statement. she is obvious career military and held in very high regard by her peers and shows a very cold demeanor outward. i think she prepared the statement herself and took her time to record the message as to show no emotion and be strong. she prolly figured if she broke down or showed her emotion it would just encourge Lansky to do the same.. she was being strong for him
