Hello all,

I have been wanting to make a costume since I was about 10 years old! I am now 21 and finally getting around to accomplishing my dreams!

I have made many helmets and props throughout the years but never tackled a full costume before. This costume is mostly being 3d printed with use of EVA foam where needed. I am hoping y'all will be able to help me along this journey and maybe be able to answer challenging costume questions I may have. Details are super important to me, and I am having a very hard time telling myself the costume doesn't need to be perfect...

Here is where we are at so far:

Most of the parts are printed, but I still have to finish sanding them before I can do my actual paint job. Ideally, I am going for a very dark color scheme, something like this:

I may even go for the dark visor, but for now I am liking the blue.

Torso/Chest:
My biggest challenge at the moment is trying to make the Torso/Chest area look right. I am not a fan of how I currently have the main chest piece connected:

As you can see it is just connected with Velcro to the straps. This makes it look a bit strange from the side, so I am not quite sure how I am going to connect it now. I added the white Eva foam layer in hopes that I'll be able to make a better mounting place for it.

As far as how i get it on, I just simply have the side panels velcroed in. super simple, and works really well in my opinion:

Nothing too special about the back, but figured id show it for consistency:

SHINS:
Everything else is really straight forward, either velcroed or friction fit onto my body. The one thing that is a bit different is the shin, It is currently held in by 2 magnets, but I have a big fear that they will not be enough when i am walking around all day at a con, and I need something else to hold it together. If anyone has ideas, they would be much appreciated:

so ya, that's my progress so far, I am extremely happy with it, but I am terrified to paint it and potentially ruin it lol.

I would appreciate any critiques or suggestions so I can make the costume as good and functional as possible!

Looking sharp so far! Interesting choice 3D printing the under armor for the torso. Do you think it’ll be comfy?
honestly i had my concerns, and was going to just use a 3d printed on until i had time/money to do something else, but it actually is plenty comfy. it is hard to bend over though, but i think thats pretty normal for coplays in general.
