I've been thinking about it (because I'm too fail to actually build it, so I think about it :D) and I've come up with a way to make the Hellspartan visor.

For those of you who haven't seen what a Hellspartan looks like:

Anyways, I was thinking, it's possible to make your own visors out of some random material, yes? (If not, this whole plan kinda falls through).

You can make a double visor layer (because of all the indents and everything...) and cut out these details (outlined in red)

from the top visor, and paint those spots on the bottom visor the colors they would be on the hellspartan's visor. then the top visor can just be silver-colored see-through visor.

Thoughts? ideas? suggestions? Feedback on making your own acrylic or whatever visor?

EDIT: The other pic seems a bit small. Here's a bigger one (Details aren't outlined, but you can see them):

Well, you could melt Sprite bottles to make the green part, im sure you could vaccum form the rest of the visor. but its vision will only be the green holes.

Actually, I was thinking a silver visor, the only reason you would need to make it yourself is because the EVA visor is HUGE. And the green-hole vision wouldn't work, they're too far off to the side.

from my understanding and what i have read is, making the visor isnt hard... tinting the visor and still being able to see threw it is the problem... have you searched and read the other ideas that are around? if not id say do that.

i was thinking you could tint the visor and make it so the seams of the tint fall underneath the dual visor? that seems to be the main problem is that you would have to cut the tint because the curve is to much to wrap the tint around... but with the right planning you may be able to eliminate or at least make it less noticeable.

Well, if you can get a right-sized visor, then you just need one black and one silver, and then you cut out the holes from the silver one, paint the two "eyeholes" (for lack of a better descriptive term) green, and bam you're done.

or you could put cameras on it and a gigantic LCD display as your view and make the whole thing opaque.. I wonder how that would work.. would be wierd to see in from of you without actually seeing it.. I might need to test this sometime... sounds like potential dizziness.....

I considered that idea too, and rejected it on the grounds that your eyes would hurt like hell and you'd have a massive headache.

yeah, that concerns me, I wonder how it would actually work in practice though.. I think it would probably do more damage then good, but if not it would be awesome
