The problem that we may run into is that 123d make is no longer available. Will have to find an old version somewhere, and possibly a linux version as well. This method is exactly what I've been looking for in our forums. While it has been mentioned and shown, how to do it seems to be something taboo....

And here is a link for the old version (1.6) of 123d make. Autodesk has completely done away with 123d and absorbed it into fusion360 and tinkercad. I can do without the cloud based stuff for now, and 123d runs on xp still...

And another. Since slic3r seeks to only work with older versions, Slicer3 fills that void on sketchup. It's be nice to go from start to finish within one program though....

Blender as a whole is difficult, but if you can use it for just one thing and become proficient, it is an extremely useful tool as it is available on windows, mac, and linux flavors. Additionally, those benevolent souls out there who make extremely useful scripts as add-ons, have made it even easier to attain our goals. Below is a tutorial on using laserslicer.py add-on.
