Humans and the covenant

i don't think so. their scanners would register him as an artifact. and since the brutes do most everything in the covenant then they would tear him apart before he officially joined. theres also the fact that the prophetsa ordered all the humans killed. but thats just my opinion.

The Covenant's goal was to wipe humanity out of existence. While some Elites thought that Humans were worthy enough to join the Covenant, they never said out loud in fear of being executed. So no, the Covenant would never let Humans join. Only until the ending of Halo 2 and in the beginning of Halo 3 did the Covenant Separatists {Elites.} Actually decide to work together with Humanity. If a Human had Forerunner based technology, they would probably kill him and take it.

Read Contact Harvest to find out why the Covenant thought wanted to wipe humanity out. Since the forerunners were human or humanoid, humans registered as artifacts. To keep the "Great Journey" going the way they wanted, the prophets had to hide this fact and wipe out humanity.

I think that after the leading Prophets were revealed to be misleading the masses, by one of the warrior caste no less, their religious(?) sway would be rejected outright and all of the covenant species would be more open to including humanity. Sure there would still be hard feelings within the Covenant factions about the things that happened during the war on both sides, But there would be more to gain from each other than from destroying each other.

It seems to me that the common denominator that all of these different races had was The Great Journey. After this was revealed to be in essence, a whole lot of horse-s##it, humans would probably be brought into the fold. But then there is the whole enemy of my enmy thing... in which case the elites may choose to continue the war our of some racial motivation.
