Well Ive been working for 3 months on this suit and everything on it is done except my undersuit which is being ordered soon.
I am taking this suit to Sakuracon so if you're there make sure and say hi!
heres some pics so far. Not all my armor pieces have been photographed yet.
If you wish to see my youtube videos Ive posted over the last few months they can be viewed here thewazaaman.youtube.com

On the side I have been working on this commission of a Pulse Rifle its not yet resined

Any questions are welcome and encouraged as well and I especially encourage criticism because I am human and looking to improve myself however I can.

Also before I am asked no I did not use any pep files all my work is done free-hand unless its a halo helmet.

I really like the way this build is comming along. I personally enjoyed Dead Space 2 greatly.

I saw another build like this a little earlier. If you do some digging you would be able to find it.

I already did it and thanks man Im planning on posting the rest of the armor Ive built but after a freak accident the paint got all messed so I have to re paint almost everything.

I use craft foam, thin cardboard and carstock as well as flexiplastic and resin
I also use modeling clay for other things

Updated!

Sadly my RIG broke so I sat down for about 2 hours and reconstructed it.

Actually Im painting it right now pics will hopefully be up soon. The only part not done is the unitard which Im ordering soon

Im hopefully going to start my actual suit soon, it seems styrene is good for weapons...but not for suit parts....cna you give me some tips on the cardboard?

Yeah use thin cardboard like pizza box cardboard. Its easy to work with and doesnt have those criss crossy line things inside of it.
Also Styrene is a good idea. The only reason I didnt use it for my plasma cutter was that I couldnt get any where I live.

The unitard is arriving on tuesday then once its painted I'll strap all the suit parts together and show off.

Nice work, man. The Advanced Suit is actually what I'm working on, too (although I have barely gotten started). I'm not sure what techniques you used (being a noob myself and unable to call it on sight), but I'm planning to sculpt the helmet and possible the front and back sections of the RIG, make a mold, and finally cast them in high-impact plastic. The rest is likely going to be done with foam, seeing as how it's not a bulky suit, and the desired effect can be achieved with relatively-thin pieces.
I'm going to complete the helmet first, despite some people having said that you could lose inspiration after finishing the most important part of the build, but it'll be the opposite for me. Once I have the helmet set and done, complete with paint and LEDs, I'll definitely move on to the rest with gusto.

I'll try to check back here for your progress on occasion. Once I get started, perhaps we can compare notes. I don't know if you have them, but I found two Pepakura files for the Advanced Suit on here: the helmet, and the shin guards.

Well I dont use pepakura files unless I need reference for halo helmets which I usually use DAS clay to sculpt but I love that people are finally stepping up and trying to build this suit as well it was getting kinda boring being the only guy for the last few months. The suits done btw Im just waiting on a unitard but its taking till next tuesday to get here D:

Also btw use foam ALOT. Its useful especially with those little gold pieces on the suit theres a post on the 1st page where I showed detailing with the foam. the littlest bits get a lot easier with the stuff also like 12 sheets of it are only 3 bucks at walmart that much is all ive needed so far for the suit and a few other things im building.
