N7 foam build in a week

Hello all!

With the midnight release of Mass Effect 3 next Monday , I decided on Friday night that I would try to rush a super simple N7 suit in a week .

I'm freehanding this by looking at reference pics online . I hope you guys like it!
I have completed the front chest piece in full , the back needs to be plasti-dipped , and the shoulders need a final painting. I'll post updates as I make progress ! Every night I am working for at least 3-4 hours on the suit .

I got 3 packs of this nylon strapping from Wal-Mart to strap it all together

I also am using these buckles and velcro to secure it -

I created my own templates freehand and then traced them onto the foam

For the N7 logo I cut out a image I printed off of Google images and painted over that

Update* 11:58pm 3/1/12

I just finished the gauntlets , now they are ready for plasti-dipping!

I also plasti-dipped and painted the back piece . I dont have any pics of the painting yet . I'll get those up tomorrow

Your build's coming along really fast, the back and bracers look good. Just something minor, that N7 insignia looks a little wrong stenciled straight onto the synthetic weave pattern like that, I looked up some pictures online and the N7 + red triangle logo is either embossed on top of the chest plate or recessed in slightly and printed on a flat surface. Nothing that any of the awestruck kids at gamestop will notice but if you've got time something to think about.

Yeah I plan on making a higher detailed suit once I finish this one . I am going to try and make a 3D emblem if I have time . Thanks!

how do you plan to paint it? Arylic paint?

And how easy was it to make this? its my next suit for the con comming up so im getting slightly worried that the brown fecal matter will hit the oscilatting device made to project air before my build gets past 1%

I am very impressed by your build. The end product is instantly recognizable, even if a few details aren't perfect. But when you consider that this was free hand AND done in less than a week, this is phenomenal! I can't wait to hear about people's reactions when you brought your suit to get your game. Hope you enjoy the game!

I know this is a month old thread, but I wanted to just commend you on your fast progress! It is turning out great!

Did you ever get your suit finished? And begin working on a newer more detailed one? I would love to see pics. Im starting my own build of ME3 Armor soon.
