in the weta model, it really looks like the parts were attached to something that appears to be a type of bullet proof vest (possibly a replica). How they are attached, i have no clue. I was just going to hot glue the peices on. You can get these replicas from airsoft stores around 60 dollars. You might actually be able to find a real one for a good deal from a army surplus store.

In fact... i am willing to bet money they used this same exact one

Something like this wouldn't be a challenge at all to make out of black denim/canvas material and it would save a lot of money

i was planning on using a paint balling vest i found on ebay for $36, it looks relatively close to WETA and game version, and has a couple areas you can attach some stuff, i already have one in woodland camo0 but i was going to buy this black one for my ODST Vest, it does have some pieces on the back, but they all velcro on, and it has an internal storage area for a camel pack

I haven't found anything specific, but I remember doing a little reading into how WETA did their suits and how everything was mounted. If I remember correctly, they had said that it was bolted on. So I guess what that implies is that it didn't necessarily use any preset velcro or MOLLE spacings? They could've just bolted onto anywhere on the vest provided they just made a hole first. Probably just used some simple webbing or something to bolt it onto.

I have a question for you guys. I was going to get these: Clicky!, but I'm not sure whether to get them in black or green. Any thoughts? From the pics, it looks to me like it should be more of the green color.

we are using one of the molle vests posted in the first link. they look great, im just hoping they still look great after i attatch everything to them.

They're more grey, but I'm not seeing any green in them so if it's green or black, I'd go black as well, unless you're going for a unique color scheme.

I got an idea for an extremely cheap ODST vest.

Buy a life vest

Remove some padding, and paint it black. Sound good?

if you noticed in the WETA ODSTs, you see the pants are kinds loose, so if you re going for the WETA look than go to a uniform store and get some black scrubs! speaking of which im getting some today! :D

Great find with the vest Haji! I'm going to definitely have to use that for my suit.

What I noticed in the WETA shorts is that the upper clothing under the vest looks almost like a sort of lyrca or spandex to me, tight fitting but if made right can give that little extra cloth look in the videos. I drew up a little pattern idea I had but can't seem to find it, I planned on using black lycra with sleeves that have a hole to wrap around my thumb under the gloves to prevent the shirt from ridding up, with a short turtle neck to it. A stormtrooper neck seal with finish it off for that little extra.
