pipninja, great job on those......how did you make the circle indentations? Seams look pretty good. Sand those down a little bit and the will look invisible.

It's just such an odd looking divot......Maybe your right....I can actually see a skip on the right handed one displayed on the right handed one. It's faint but there. 2999!!!!

And yeah, you can tell by that skip that I still haven't mastered the technique, it's a new one for me. On the handplates, the divits had a big skip, so I'm getting better at it at least

Even on the lowest speed the bugger can still skip on you.

If you're going to try that, higher speed is actually your friend. What you need to be careful about is the angle you're applying it at. You want the dremel to be perpendicular to the working surface, and you'll need to avoid any angled or curved surfaces. I did it twice on my backpack and it came out pretty decent. Evil Ted shows how to do that, as well.

I'd highly recommend taking scrap foam and practicing a bunch if you're not confident.

Well this is what I got done yesterday... A lot of cutting. Ohh and I'm working on a table now. It's so much better.

Today these will be forarms

It's okay. It is not going to be very big. I just want to give the general idea of material, I'm not actually posting a materials list. The only thing I would have liked added would be the icon puzzle pieces, but it is not worth retaking the photo for. The photo is great! :)

I just noticed a typo. Lol. Foam is not that caustic. Any suggestion for what a downside is to foam building?

After working a bit with foam I really want to build a spartan so i think i`m going to start looking for supplies now and that pictures quite helpful also great work on the armor so far looks great cant wait to see the progress :)

Well I'm out for a food break but here is some of the progress, as well as some things I learned and tried. Started my day with the knolling of my pieces

Also, one of my favorite things about foam is being able to fake it till you make it. It's very forgiving, and you try hard enough, you can make it line up.

Also another thing I tied out which worked well, was scoring the foam on two bits that we're flush with each other. The hot glue likes to fill the gaps between, so in a flush piece, it will hold it together better than the two smooth surfaces.

And finally, it also works to fill and shape gaps sometimes. It's hard to see in the picture, but the glue is smooth all the way around, filling the Gap and fixing the rough cut. Also with the rough side of the foam up, it lets me hide a few crimes. The transition doesn't have to be completely smooth.

I'm going to try and Finnish the forarms today.

Agreed. Foam can be forgiving and much maliable but, be careful. Sometimes you force things together and the stress you create affects the shape somewhere else. It can easily warp the prop.

Wow, those look really great, man! Is the template you used the same one in the armory for the reach forearms? Los libre what I've got loaded on my computer.
The files are the same ones on the armory, however, I unfolded my templelates myself.
