Plasticard, what is it?

Hey guys I have a fairly simple question for you. I want to use plasticard for something I'm doing but I'm not entirely sure what it is. I think its just styrene but I'm not sure, is that right?
Also, can I get it at a hardware store or craft store?

I know this is used a lot in warhammer so if any of you guys know let me know.

thanks

Yes plasticard is sheet styrene.

I've never seen it at a craft store, only at hobby shops. I'd see if you have any hobby stores around you, places that sell trains or models should carry it.

Depending on your project an alternative is using large plastic For Sale signs, available at Home Depot. Those are actually sintra, not styrene, but are used by Boba Fett builders for making armor. It's easy to work with and can be heated up and shaped into simple curves.
