Foam Silent Shadow build

I'm back at it again with another prop build and this time I'm doing a prop build based off of one of the Elite characters in Halo Infinite

Yes it's Jega Rdomnai the cyborg elite that's part of the Silent Shadow group! I've already made progress by painting my energy sword prop red last year and this time I'll be making his cyborg arm with the energy blades maybe detachable?

So far I've gotten the red energy sword done and freehanded a template of the cyborg arm.

Today's progress:
I was able to start by cutting out the energy blade sections and the top section of the robo-arm.

The plan for this build is to try to make the arm blades detachable in some way so I can transport everything without taking up too much space. I have a stack of small neodymium magnets that I have from last year but I'm not comepletely sure those will work even though this'll be lightweight

If you have a 3d printer you could get some clear filament to make the blades out of, that and some good red LEDs would make for a good energy sword!

Energy sword arm progress as of today:
I started making the arm section + side pieces. The "blade sections had some seams visible, so I filled those up as best as I can with foam clay.

The details I'll trace on 3mm foam then add to the arm section after I take a snack break. I think it'll be fitting if I also add a banished emblem on the arm too

Quick update for the night:

Magnets did not work so I drilled a wood dowel to connect the blade parts. I think tomorrow I'll add one more as a handle near the top of the blade area (for stability)

After that comes details and painting

Alright so I've added some extra details now with straps + 2nd dowel is holding nicely. I probably won't have time to start painting tonight, but I'll just set up my paint station in my garage with the red spray paint and primer. The arm section I'll have to hand paint because I don't have that spray paint color right now

Beginning the painting process now:
Used primer (done)
Heat seal foam (done)

I'm painting the blade sections now and I realized I had 2 red spray paints in my collection.
I used the lighter orange-red paint called matte fire red because it had that glowing color I'd imagine an energy sword to be colored.
Some paint cans I haven't used in a while. Spray paint doesn't expire right?

The Finale: Paint job is 100% Done now! I think. When this is done drying, I'm gonna put Mod Podge because I'm told that protects the paint from fading out etc.

Here's my full reveal of my Banished Spartan with the arm blades and energy sword! Looking forward to bringing this to C2E2 next weekend!

I was going to also make the Gen 3 undersuit but I'm busy this week and I think it might be hard to use the restroom.
