Hey 405th, me again.
Being a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series, (but it is second to my beloved Halo) I've decided to attempt Dragonscale Gauntlets. I might even go for the whole set depending on feedback.
Here is the in-game model for those unfamiliar:
And my pep work (I'm doing just the right hand for now.)
After hardening, I had the idea for detailing. You'll notice that the texture on the plates is a kind of "peeling layers" of Dragon scales. So I did this, using the thin foam sheeting they sell for lining toolboxes and whatnot:
One coat of rondo:
I think it makes the detailing really come alive:
Primed:
Now I had to use an off-white to approximate "bone", but once its is blackwashed it will look much more authentic.
Thumbtacks provided the perfect detailing for the "rivets".
And that is all for now. Soon, the metal color coat and the blackwashing.
