Spartan NBS, MKV Build (Pic Heavy)

Alright, this is my first build ever. I'm using the MOZ Pepakura files from the Constuming wiki 'Cept the Helmet. I'm using Rundowns HD Version for that. (Thanks Rundown, I don't even know you at all but from what I've been reading, You know your stuff).

My Friends keep asking me if I'm going to be MC for Halloween and I keep saying, "No, I'm a Spartan". I think that's the right way to say that. It's also fitting because I live near Michigan State University who are the Spartans.

What I have done :

- Left/Right Bicep (25 1/4 Scale)
- Left/ Right Forearm9 (25 Scale)
- Left Boot. (24 1/4 Scale)
- Backpack (30 Scale) *
- Chest Piece (28 Scale) *

* These are going to be redone because they were too big and the melted in the out put of the AC unit. I have them 'hung' on the wall above my Computer desk. That just happens to be right in the flow of the AC unit's output to the rest of the apartment. They Literally melted. The Good news is they were bonded together with Rubber cement, NEVER USE IT. Hot Glue is so much better.

Things I have Printed out :

- Rundowns' HD Helmet (Un-Scaled, It seems the height was perfect measurement wise)
- Left Thigh piece. (26? Scale, Can't remember, I left it at a friends house)

I plan on doing a Basic Rondo inside and am contemplating what I'm going to do on the outside still. After Reading a thread about someone that didn't use (and was quite agianst) rondo on the outside I may try it just for ease of Work. I probably will still use a few thin layers though.

Still not sure What Color I'm going to paint it. I'm thinking a Blue/Black mix. Kind of like the "stealth" color with Blue Highlights. I'm also going to be adding Blue LED's in the armor in certain places. Just to make it look cool. I'm very experienced at Electrical stuff so that's not a problem for me.

I've also been kicking around the idea of putting a Small lift in the shoes to give me some more height. No more then 2 or 3 inches. The boot I already have built is Huge and could probably accommodate it. We'll see.

Any Comments would be appreicated and Thanks for all the Priceless info all of you provide. It's a great help. Here are some Crappy Cell phone pictures.

I'm also going to make a Set of Armor for my Wife when I'm done with mine. The First file I printed out was too small (way to small) and fit her perfectly. Since she put that first piece on she said "If you make one, You have to make me one too!" Pretty sweet. If she didn't have tons of Homework She's be helping.

YEAHHHH ANOTHER MK V!! Lookin good so far. Im doing my first build too with this model and the Rundown helmet. The Rondo is a good way to give the pieces firmness after you resin the outside, and today I've put another layer of fiberglass over the Rondo and the pieces are rock solid!! How tall are you? I need to redo my shin pieces and just curious how your scale fits on you. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming!!

I'm About 5'11". At the moment, I'm 260 lb's but am working on getting alot smaller in the next couple months. The armor, among other things, has motivated me to get in a little better shape. The Boot fits me just about perfect, alittle too long, but I can adjust the height between the shoe and the Grieve. That or go with my mentioned idea of a 2 or 3 In. Lift in the shoe. We'll see. Thanks for the Comment!

gotta love the old design :) can't wait to see how this turns out ;)

Done. It's my first time with a High Detail one though. So don't expect it to be perfect.

I don't know why but I think every WIP thread has to have the guy wearing the Helmet, in the bathroom.

That's it for now. It took me about 4 hours to do the Helmet. Can't wait to get some more Card Stock and start cranking out the "other side" of my Armor. Then It'll just be the Diaper, Stomach Piece (the one I'm most worried about) and the Backpack/Chest. Woot!

Thanks for the encouragement!

More Pictures!

I've been busy. Yesturday was kind of my day off so I got quite a bit done. Just showing them in seperate updates. This is the last for at least a few days.

I think it doesn't look to bad. I did have to trim down the Thigh pieces considerably though. I gotz the male equivalent of the Thunder thighs. It's what I get from riding my bike so much/genetics.

SO.......

It's been a while Since I've been back. The reason being....I have alot going on right now. That and I didn't have any more money or time really to work on my Armor. Part of the reason for me being Busy is that School has started agian and those kiddies need rides to school. This also mean, however, that I get paid. This means I have money to spend which means I can start to work on the Project.

Unfortunatly, I don't think I'll have enough time to finish it for Halloween. That wasn't really my Goal but it would have been cool. I do have another project I want to practice my Bondoing on before I start back up on my MKV agian. That is

A Rocketeer Helmet. If I get it done before Halloween that would be cool. I have a Pretty cool Motorcycle Jacket that I could throw on and Go as a modern Rocketeer kind of thing. The Main reason for this helmet is Practice though. I want to test a few kinds of paint that I want to use on my MKV Armor. I figure if I can make a Curved Helmet look good A Boxy MC helmet shouldn't be too hard. I may update, but I'm still pretty busy. Thanks guys!

OH, and I will be finishing my MKV build hopefully with in a Year. That was my goal at the start. I'm not in any big hurry.
