Hello Everyone!

Since I have had a huge amount of time off during my spring break, my brain tends to think about strange things and tries to work out how it will go together (I'm sure many of you have experienced this too). This was further kicked into gear with the (spoiler!) return of GLaDOS in Portal 2.

Now it appears that sheer boredom (not affiliated with the game) and the release of Portal 2 have come crashing together to hatch a dubious plan to make myself an actual GLaDOS. You could almost say that I have fallen in love with her sinister ways and dry humor.

I'm in the designing/researching phase of this operation and I am using SolidWorks 2010 to come up with a feasible "skeleton" to enable full articulation of GLaDOS. This will obviously need many technical parts as well as computational skills, all on my part. But I am confident in my abilities as I have worked on microgravity robotics and automated material handling systems.

The first snag I have run into, is the size of GLaDOS. I DO want to make a full sized version, but obviously I cannot account for all 3 stories of her since I do not have a spare hollowed out office building for her. But I do want to make the part of her that actually moves so I might not have to worry about that.

However, I am having difficulty in locating a profile/bio drawing of GLaDOS. Based on game play, I would predict that her "head" is about 15 inches in width and 30-32 inches in height and is pretty close to a half circle. I have used this method of scaling a drawing to real life many times before, yet I do not have a schematic/blueprint/flat drawing of her and internet search results have been...wierd.

If anyone knows of a picture I can use to get started on this project, I would be much obliged!

Thank You,

That one looks like it woul be difficult to pull off as a costume. Good luck I can't wait to see pictures
Edit: duh I should read better. Making a robot of her is even more impressive Good luck
