What is the longest shipping time anyone experienced with the USPS? I sold and shipped a finished spiker on ebay and 2 weeks later still no package delivery. It was going to California from Illinois. I guess I am lucky I paid for insurance and signiture confirmation. I have sent stuff overseas and its been quicker than that. I hate the USPS...
Sorry about the rant, I just figured you guys could keep an eye out for it. It may show up somewhere.

Well one reason for the delay guys was hurricane IKE... USPS has their largest distribution hub, in Houston TX, and that was where most of the storm hit. My wife works for USPS and she has been working OT trying to send out mail that was sent out a week prior to the storms arrival. So remember, just because you don't get hit by a major storm, doesn't mean others didn't. I evacuated to the Austin area from our home near Houston, and still got bad weather from the storm there. I'm sure Adam would agree there was a good bit of rain that week.

I have mailed letters and packages from Indiana to the west coast that have taken up to a month. I've also gotten a letter from or two from Florida that took several weeks to arrive. It really does depend on the weather and the routing that the USPS uses. Even for my local mail, it goes to the "big city" an hour away then has to come back. I wouldn't sweat it for another couple weeks.

Cool, thanks for the input. I am just getting a little nervous I guess. Its just wierd how some packages get to some places so quickly and others take foreve. I will just hang tight and see.

It's always a guessing game with the Postal Service.... I once recieved a birthday card that was postal dated as August 9 (so my aunt would get it to me by my birthday) and I didnt get it till the middle of December :cautious:

I ship packages by USPS all the time. Usually if the address is correct, and it not the the boondocks of the USA, packages take about 2-5 days. Occasionally depending of federal holidays things get bunched up and slow down. Don't forget last Monday the postal service was not operating for a holiday...

Its good you got tracking, it makes finding your lost items so much easier.

But then again, i use USPS because its cheap, and I have never been billed after the fact as I have from UPS and FedEx.
