Hey I was wondering if anyone here on the 405th play Warhammer fantasy or 40k, I'm starting up an orcs and goblin army and had a few questions if there are any other O&G players on here.
heh somewhere I've got an army stored.. 5 dreadnaughts, 6-7 rhino/tank things (basically one of each type, and two of the double cannon ones if I remember right.. maybe two of the missile launcher ones too..), 2 landraiders, 15-20 bikes, 5 or 6 of the flyng car things, 10 squads tactical marines, 50+ death company, 4-5 squads of terminators, 3-4 squads of the heavy duty tactical squad type, can't remember the name... 2-3 squads of the jump pack marines.. then librarians, all those wierd special characters, whirlwind terminators.. think that's it.. havn't touched them in years... guess what army? I guess death company gave it away but yeah, I love red. oh and squads = 10 men back then, I think I heard they've changed that? And for the record I didn't plan to have an army that big, it's just out of my family I was the last one to have an army, as everyone else gave up thier marines slowly got painted red or black and joined my army. I was real young when I used em tho and kind of used them more like the little green toy soldiers.. played a few games but more I just liked to collect em. Maybe if I find the boxes of them I'll snap some photos, but I'm not gonna set them all up, takes forever.
I have been working on an IG army based on the colonial marines from Aliens but I actually think I am going to shift to a Daemonhunter Halo Army. I just want to custom build the vehicles. I am torn between going to the SM route (cheese) with grey knight and such or the IG route with stormies and cannon fodder. I need to decide if I want to win or be a martyr
Havent played for ages, just paint, and get paid to do it
Im a pro painter, but since i started working on my suit i havent had the time!
once a decent new 40k army comes out (ie, xenos hunters) ill probally get a army running again.
heres pics of my best and most recent mini's:
-Portal, wow that is AMAZING painting. I'm just starting to realy get into the hobby now seeing as I have had to pay for some other expenses before getting into games like this, so my painting is still crappy. Getting better though.
-Volcolv, wow that is a huge army, space marines are cool, I'm going to make a space marine or chaos marine army once I get about 3000 points worth of orcs and goblins for fantasy.
-Spartan, yeah games workshop realy does rip you off but thats how all the mainstream companies are... like for one plastic 25mm mini from games workshop can run you 5 bucks each sometimes, all the other companies charge between 1 and 2 dollers each mini and they are all pewer. but seeing as game workshop has the most people playing it and such a large variaty of minis thats why they can rip you off.

hope posting pics was ok....
Wow you're one of *those* folks! When I first started painting minis I would look at galleries of awesome stuff like yours to get inspiration XD Top notch
Ive never actually played the game but I used to paint the odd figure, I have a few Tau figures a big Tau tank thing (the one with the really long gun) and some marines, also a few wood elves, the old ones though, I see they've re released them with much nicer sculpts now.
The closest I've ever come to playing Warhammer 40K is the PC game and a couple of the expansions, lol.
Never bought/painted/collected any of the board game figures, though I do agree they all look really kewl. And damn, some of them (ie. vehicles) are HUGE, lol.
In the "Dark Crusade" PC expansion, my preferred race is the Tau (the Necrons are kewl too, but they're just glorified "walking dead"). Those Tau are totally kick-@$$! heh heh

why thank you all
I've been painting for about 5 years, you get pretty good if you spend as much time as i do on this sort of thing...
next time I'm at the warhammer club ill have to take some pics of stuff I've painted for some other people. I've currently got a few amazons and Marco Columbo to paint for someone, plus some kasrkin I'm working on for myself (love em cause they look like ODST's )
Dude i totally Know what you mean, the Kasrkins are totally awesome i have to get some and mod them a bit for use as my Inquisitorial StormTroopers, i have an Inquisition Army, the Witch Hunter (aka Sisters Of Battle), which is one of the new armies in the new Dawn Of War SoulStorm release, i cant wait to play it.
But yeah painting comes easy to you when you do over and over, its been about 7 years for me going on 8, i started just about beginning of 2000.
I've never actually played a game but I used to collect to paint, somewhere I've got an army of Dark Elves, another of Orcs and another of The Empire... I also collected Dwarves just cause they looked cool
These are kind of old and the photos aren't that great:
All unfinished. The top two aren't GW figs, they're from Colin Dixon's Dwarf King's Court Redux set and underneath them is a dwarf of some kind, the White Dwarf and Joseph Bugman (my favorite of the lot )
ill have to dig through on my desk top as thats where some of my pics would be,
put i really want to get ahold of some pics of an army i painted for a friend (necrons), and with his necron lord i gave the resurrection orb animation from Dawn of War and modeled the ground with grene electricity and burnt sand
Since we are showing pics, this is my Boba Fett themed Tau army. Sold most of them but kept my custom Vespids and a squad of these guys. Also, the bounty hunters of Star Wars made with GW bits.
