DREDD 3D Shoulderpads.

Hey guys, I've been working on these for about a week and a half now and I just wanted to share my build with you all!

All these first posts will be copied from another thread on the RPF.

So I plan on making the Shoulders worn in DREDD 2012, keep in mind that I've never sculpted by hand before so please, if you have any advice for me, hook me up with it!

I plan on cold casting and weathering these for the final as well.

On to the build!

I drew out the pattern out on paper from what I have seen from online screen shots:

Went to kinkos and scaled it to a few different sizes to see what would work better:

I then pasted it onto a visor cutout from my Daft Punk Guy Manuel helmet:

Covered it in resin and started the sculpt: (Apoxie Sculpt)

Primer to see where I'm at: yuck!

Sanded things down a bit and I like it a bit more now:

More primer and now I'm here:

Thought it needed some cleaning and deeper lines:

The tail really bugged me...

Added some Apoxie sculpt for more surface area:

So got a bit more done on the right shoulder...

Once again, scrap Guy Manuel visor:

Apoxie Sculpt:

Fill with bondo:

Smooth it:

Build a Dam:

Fill with bondo:

Sand it up!:

Cut some lines:

Smooth it out:

It has taken just under 2 weeks to get to this point and I haven't been working on them as much as I'd like. I hope to get them under some rubber by the middle of next week though. Make some copies
