Hi Zeth, welcome to the 405th!

We've got a load of members here who are Warhammer fans (including myself), so you shouldn't have any trouble fitting in here! This is the best place to be to learn how to make Halo armour and prop weapons, we've got tutorials, guides and walkthroughs for everything. One I would recommend is the one by N8TEBB (I'm GOING to get you to 10k subs at this rate ) as it covers most of the stages and components used in making cosplay armour. I'll link it below for you!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask or open a thread.

Howdy Will, welcome to the 405th Infantry Division!

I know the scene that you're on about, it's up there as one of the most cinematic in my opinion! The mac rounds just sound and feel like they have mass in that cutscene, don't they?
You like your steak rare, just as god intended ;) , it's the only way to have a good steak. Medium rare is skirting the line to heresy, well done is up there with having steak and ketchup.

If it's better techniques and a better way to paint that you were looking for, we've got it all here. Chech out the tutorials tab or look through the Halo costumes and props tab to find builds you like and just ask the maker there!

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask away or open a thread.
Enjoy your time in the 405th.

Favorite Hobby: Gunpla
Favorite part of Halo: Campaign
Favorite Halo: 3 for the social memories, CE for the OG aesthetic
Favorite Video Game: Halo, Devil May Cry, Mass Effect, Persona series
Other Interests: I collect a lot of Halo merch. Books, prints, consoles, etc. Own four cats and a dog
Favorite Food: Pizza
Favorite Band: Nu-metal genre
Favorite Movie(s): These days it's mostly Godzilla and Gundam
What do you hope to learn here?: 3D Printing, mainly - I just got a Bambu X1 Carbon which is incredible, but I'm new to the space. I tinkered with a basic Ender-3 for a while but it wanted to fight me more than it wanted to work with me
Have you built/made a costume before?: Not fully, I've done a lot of simple repaints and black washes of both helmets and pre-made foam weapons (like the kind you see for sale at cons or on sale on amazon) to make them look a little more realistic. I'd say the most significant thing I've done for some kind of personal work would be NERF MA40 repaint and Noble Six helmet paint. A few times I've attempted suits out of pepakura or foam but the projects were eventually dropped over time for one reason or another. Don't wanna give up this time and motivated now more than ever to finish one through.
Do you belong to any other costume communities? If so, which one(s)?: None, but I've been a looong time on/off lurker and admirer of these forums and a few Halo-centric groups on Facebook. I feel like finally joining will help push that motivation further! (y)

Gundam, Mass Effect, cats and pizza *chefs kiss*

I also got tired of constantly having to fight and fiddle with my last printer but the quality I'm getting out of my Bambu printer is in a league of it's own and definitely has helped keep me motivated to finish my armor. If you have any questions feel free to ask and happy printing!

[ First Name: ] Trinity! (I prefer Reese though)
[ Profession? Student?: ] Student currently, hoping to get into the work force soon however.
[ Age: ] Twenty One [21], turning Twenty Two [22] soon.

[ Favorite Hobby: ] Drawing is one of my main things, I also dabble in 3D modelling and help a friend with their occasional game developing. Other then that though? I'm just a huge fan of gaming, it's what I do whenever I have free time - which is a lot at the moment!
[ Favorite part of Halo: ] While SPARTAN's are very cool, my favourite part is the stories involving the people who aren't augmented like ODST and Marines. Folks that know they don't have anything that makes them special, but fights for humanity nonetheless. Especially with the dynamic that ODST themselves have with one another, it's something that if I could, I'd love to be involved in.
[ Favorite Halo: ] Halo 3: ODST and Halo Reach, easy. Though Combat Evolved is definitely up there, but it can't beat Reach since it was my first ever Halo game as a kid and ODST was my second.
[ Favorite Video Game: ] Hard to say! Prey is definitely a good one, Destiny 2 if my profile pic didn't say that already, but I'm also a huge fan of Helldivers 2 and Cyberpunk 2077!
[ Other Interests: ] .. Kinda went over a lot of it already, whoops. But I'm also a fan of just going on walks, multiple kinds of roleplay involving the above, and a bunch of other things! If you wanna know if I enjoy it, just ask and I'll say!

[ Favorite Food: ] Shrimp and lobster. Doesn't matter how it's cooked, it tastes delicious.
[ Favorite Band: ] Don't have a specific one. I listen to a lot of music! <:
[ Favorite Movie(s): ] All of the Transformers movies, but especially the Bumblebee movie. Uhh- not sure otherwise! I'm more of a show person like Red Vs Blue!

[ What do you hope to learn here?: ] I'm hoping to learn how to make costumes involving 3D printing, such as armour and helmets. My main focus will be trying to make an ODST armour set, I'm a bit too short for a SPARTAN cosplay and would need to figure out stilts.
[ Have you built/made a costume before?: ] I have not, sadly. But I'm keen to learn!
[ Do you belong to any other costume communities? If so, which one(s)?: ] Nope!
[ Other: ] I'm hoping to get to know all of you guys better! I've been looking for a group like the 501st but for Halo for - years and it's great that I finally found you guys! I'm excited! :)

Welcome to the forums, Revel!

I'm sure you hear forklift certified jokes to no end, so I won't go there!
The Bambu X1 is a hell of a printer, very good choice man. I'd say with a printer like that we'll have you in armour in no time. We've got a pile of files to choose from here to get you started. Over on Thingiverse our very own moesizzlac has made a huge amount of armour STLs that are definitely worth checking out (I'll link it for you below!)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask or open a thread.

Howya Reese, welcome to the 405th Infantry Division!

Finally another Transformers fan! They get too much hate these days about the CGI being too much and other stuff. They're just fun to watch though, especially the early ones!

To do with learning about how to make cosplay, I wholeheartedly recommend that you check out N8TEBB's video on building a suit so you can get a feel for the processes we use in order to make our armour (I'll link it below). You would also do well to check out the tutorials tab on the forums, there's a massive collection of information there that will absolutely help you on your crafting journey.

I'm sure you'll get to know us very quickly as we see you around the forums ;)
If you have any questions, feel free to ask away or open a thread.
Enjoy your time in the 405th buddy!

Welcome to the 405th Jeremiah!

You're an AJR fan? Legend! AJR is way underappreciated in my opinion, every song feels unique. My current favourite is OK Overture lol.
A Godzilla and Jurassic park fan too? You're a man of culture I see.

This is the best place that you can be if you want to learn about making your first cosplay armour, we have years of experience between us (some of us with over a decade of experience alone) in the art of cosplay.
Both our member's expertise and the guides that are available to you in the tutorials tab should get you a headstart into your cosplay journey, hopefully we'll see you in armour at a con soon!

If you have any questions, of course feel free to ask or open a thread.
