That's an interesting thought about health effects of magnets on the brain- Ive never heard of any definitive proof of long term effects of magnets in close proximity to the brain. That being said, I've never looked into it either.
Luckily for for me, that portion of the helmet is somewhat removed from my skull. They are probably 3 or more inches from my skull when it's being worn. You can see in this pic of my profile how long the back of this bucket is
The visor isn't quite as opaque as it could be, but because of the huge dome, I'm not sure it ever will be without losing all visibility.
Which brings me to the next answer on the paint job: I stressed on how I wanted to do it, and in the game, Emile's visor actually changes colors and reflectivity depending on what cut scene/part of the game/promo shot he's in. Almost all my reference pics showed a visor that wasn't mirrored, but was instead an almost matte gold color as seen in this pic:
I tried airbrushing different colors! and considered dying the visor with rit and then using alclad chrome paint or krylon looking glass. After I had my first successful pull I went out to the garage and searched my spare paints to try different things on scrap and trash visors. I started with airbrush metallic paints, they looked pretty but there was little to no visibility. After trying 3 or 4 combos, I dug through my paint bin and found some krylon metallic gold that I've had since my first master chief build (in 2008!) I sprayed it on, and then backed it with looking glass. The results were perfect. I made another pass on another scrap visor to be sure. Still perfect. I grabbed my only successful pull and went to work. I am pleased with the looks, but after PCC when times not so tight I may make a few other visors using different techniques to see what else I can do.
In other news, I ordered a clonetrooper neck seal from darman on the clonetroopers.net boards and it's perfect. He's a low quality pic of me wearing it and checking the scale of my shoulders
next up up is a new chest, and forearms. Also, this week I'm going to head over to roxyroo's and sew up some undersuit so I'm not just rocking under armor with this bad boy. Thanks for watching guys, I appreciate the questions and any feedback.
