If I had the possibility to go to Conventions, I would most definitively get that darn ODST suit of mine done.

Looks like you guys had a blast! Perhaps I'll see some of you some time in the future? ;)

If you ever want to play around with molding armor, you're always welcome to come over to San Diego. I went over to Ithica's in texas once and being able to see molding hands on taught me a lot. I may see about trying to set up a get together in August at my studio (as in housing area, not cool art factory..though it's pretty much an armor making studio now) possibly.

Sounds cool. I've started the shotgun pep, just resined it outside, along with some extra shoulder pieces, hoping its done before CC. We'll see...But I needed some kind of firearm :$

I just joined the Ca. Face book group, and i really hope to be able to go to Anime expo next year suited up! Unfortunately, i had just started it this year and its not close to done. But next year is very viable. It would be cool to meet some pros in real life too!

I'll be sure to bring along some extras then! =P I just need to rig up a way to keep them on me.

Thanks for joining the CA facebook group! If you guys are going to any other events, be sure to let me know and I'll post them up there.

Most anime fans where I live are just plain creepy people. I hate these s****y anime shows nowadays too, especially those kiddy ones like Naruto or Bakugan. However, I've always thought that the conventions looked really fun... And now I'm rambling off-topic like an idiot.

Hah. I don't like most anime myself actually. But the conventions are fun. I go because there's a lot of friends that I hang out with that do enjoy anime.

Yeah, I only am actually into two anime shows, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai champloo. I don't really know what anything else is there, but the actual convention is fun, some cool costumes. Comic-Con is more my soup, Everyone knows who Iron man is when he's walking around, or Master Chief for that matter :)

Anime definitely has a huge breadth of different genres and tastes it can meet. Like american animation, it simply denotes and art style so the content can differ greatly.

But on the topic of anime....I still need to see the rest of Halo Legends, but I do know I despise "the Babysitter". There's some good depictions of soldiers (such as in Jin Roh), but the Babysitter turning a bunch of ODSTs into cheesy military cliches just grates my nerves. Probably because I can't stand seeings a bunch of marines turned into long haired pretty boy hippies.

I think every time I go to an anime convention I end up buying non-anime stuff...I bought an AvP statue one time...WETA workshops District-9 patches another time...and I got an autographed copy of the Last Unicorn this AX.

I wouldn't say it's all garbage, but there definitely is an overabundance of it which can lead to the idea that it's all generic garbage. It certainly is hard to try and find the gems that are hidden amidst the sea of mediocre shows.

But if you figure that most of these are pretty much the equivalent of saturday morning cartoon shows, it makes sense. There's a lot of generic american cartoons that follow cookie cutter plots and characters that it makes it easy to overlook the ones worth watching. Just check out the number of Land Before Times, and it's easy to understand why people wouldn't waste time watching something like the Iron Giant. So the same thing for Japan...with all the pokemans and other mass produced anime out there, it's easy to miss out on say, "Grave of the Fireflies".

I've seen parts of The Package. To put it lightly, it looked like total s***. Ugly portrayal of the Mk. IV (my fave armor), blatant ignoration of Newton's laws of motion, semi-auto M90 Mk. Is, and the list goes on and on. The Babysitter and Homecoming are the only ones considered completely canon.
You can't know weather or not you hate anime until you've seen Fullmetal Alchemist. I too thought all anime sucked until I saw it. It's just a good show, period.

You got the point but i prefer Evangelion thats a good anime... Good Story, chapters, desings, everything its good and the remakes are better

I actually took the scene from the package when they're running down the hallway guns ablazing and killed the sounds. Put my own music it to, makes a cool little video like. :)
