Announcement from FANGS

FANGS

Commanding Officer
Community Staff
Division Staff
Hello 405th,

I have made the decision to step away from the 405th. Between my job becoming increasingly more demanding of my time outside of regular work hours and my father in the hospital over the last month, I thought things had hit pretty much rock bottom. Unfortunately it got a lot worse last Tuesday when my mother-in-law suddenly passed away. We're now responsible for taking care of her estate and dealing with our grief.

Frankly, for the last year I've been limping along trying to do my best. At times I was unable to be here at all. Certainly I wasn't able to put in the time I wanted to or the time that the 405th deserves. My heartfelt thanks goes out to the members of Division who kept everything running despite me not being able to give my full attention here. I know there will be a time when this too all shall pass but I cannot, and will not, keep holding the 405th back simply because I don't have the time.

JTF4 will be taking over as the DCO and, at least for the time being, the rest of the Division Staff remain the same. You are in amazing hands with JTF4 and the rest of Division.

It's been my honour to be a part of this amazing community over the last 11 years. I know it will continue forward without a hitch. The 405th has never been about who's in charge but rather about every member here and all that you all do to keep this great community growing and thriving.

I want to take a moment to echo Angela's message and offer my own deep and personal thanks for everything she has done—not only for the club as a whole but also for me personally and for every member who’s had the privilege of working with her.

Angela stepped into the DCO role when the 405th needed structure, direction, and someone with the heart and experience to lead the way. She brought all of that and more. Over the years, she helped transform this community into the thriving, well-organized, and passionate club we know today. From rebuilding our structure to launching our charter and membership systems to representing the 405th at major events, her impact has touched every corner of this community.

While we’ve all seen her contributions on the surface, what I’ve seen behind the scenes is even more extraordinary: late nights, difficult decisions, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by the members of this community. Angela has always led with clarity, kindness, and quiet strength—and even in the face of personal hardship, she continued to give whatever she could to keep things moving forward. That kind of selfless leadership is rare; we have been lucky to have it.

Angela, thank you. You’ve been my right hand, my partner in this journey, and the club's heart for nearly a decade. Your legacy will continue in every Regiment you helped organize, every member you supported, and every bit of community spirit you fostered along the way.

To JTF4: Thank you for stepping in during this transition. I have complete confidence in your leadership and the entire Division Staff as we carry forward the strong foundation Angela helped build.

And to our community: As Angela herself said, the 405th has never been about one person—it’s about all of us. Let’s continue to honor her legacy by showing up for each other, supporting our leaders, and building this community with the same passion and care she showed daily.

With gratitude,
Art Andrews

Thank you FANGS for EVERYTHING! Even though I became a staff member only recently, I am so thankful for the few months we've been able to work together. You really have done so much for this community and we are all so so so thankful for your leadership and guidance. I am so sorry for your losses. That is very hard. If you ever find yourself wanting to hop on Halo or join a crafting chat once this bumpy season is over, please don't hesitate to ping me.

Thanks JT for taking on an even greater responsibility. I will miss FANGS very much and I'm sure you will carry the torch well.

Lots of love <3

My interactions with FANGS have been nothing but professional and productive. Understanding of both sides of a situation. Honestly a ton better than my hot-headed self would have done in the same position. So thank-you for all you've done for the organization!

I've worked with JTF4 on Discord a few times and have to say I think the brass has made an excellent decision in this promotion.

You have my condolences Fangs. I know you've been having hardships for the past 2 years, and to have more this year as well is sad to hear :(.
Thank you for everything you've done for us here. We will continue on, and if ever you get the itch to dress up in silly Halo costumes again, you know where to find us ;)
