So I finally managed to get the time (and nerve) to start making my pepakura armor. The first piece I started was the glove/hand part. I printed it out on a letter sized paper instead of the A4, so I think that it might be a bit too big.

What do you guys think. Too big?

(Yes, I did stay up until 12 in the morning to work on this.)

Yep. Way too big. It should basically go from the wrist bone to the knuckles. Looks pretty good otherwise. Good luck with the armor and use the Q&A Team. We are here to help.

Like Tlither said, it's a bit too big,, but it's really neat and tidy..

So if the rest of your pep comes out like that you should have some sweet armour in the end!

Thanks. I am building the hd stuff so it's not very easy. On top of that, I broke my left arm a week ago and its still in a cast. Doing one tiny fold takes 3 minutes or so, but I'm patient enough I guess.

Also, I built an assault rifle out of cardboard back when I was 10. I based it on the halo 1 assault rifle because it was the only one that was out back then. I'll see if I can get some pics of that...

Edit: Here's some pics of my old Assault Rifle:

I will make a new HD rifle, but for now, I'll try finishing this. I'm thinking of going over it with grey construction paper by the end of next week. I'll probably get it done sooner though.

Update: So I printed off the new page using the legal paper size. It's going alright and should be the right size.

I'm going to go to the hardware store to get all of the other materials I need.

Here's the list so far:
-Fiberglass resin and hardener
-Fiberglass cloth
-Bondo body filter
-Super glue
-Safey crap

Plz list anything I've missed (Other than the painting and visor stuff)
Also, is bondo filter essential for the armor? Because it seems like it's the same thing as fiberglass.

(Sure, I'll get bondo, but I'm not fully certain of what it's used for)

WOAH! That's bigger then my helmet! :p
Anyways, the sized paper you print it on, doesnt matter, you need to adjust the scale right.

-FSS

edit: Unless you want your helmet to be all crispy and sharp, i recomend the use of Bondo, NO it's not even close to what fiberglass is, Fiberglass is a cloth, that you apply resin on. Bondo is a paste wich hardens.
EDIT: You made the assault rifle when you where ten, huh? That means, that you are the age of 15-17 right now, am i right?

Most people think I'm 16 when they see me (I'm kind of tall), and 18 when they hear me (on xbox live), but I'm only 14. And I guess kind of act old for my age, too. I mean, I don't care about Ipods, telephones, looking "cool" or anything else like that. Anyways, I made the assault rifle back when I was ten and I didn't have an Xbox, so I couldn't play halo 2 and bought halo 1 (which was out for the pc). My PC was my gaming console of choice since I was 3 or 4 (Diablo 1).

Sorry to cause any misunderstandings.

Anyways, I bought everything on my list except for body filter. I'll make sure to get it asap.

Edit:
Some pics of the new glove (the first pic looks a bit small compared to the second one):

So... too small?

I'm 68 inches (5'10 or so), but I didn't use any of the scales. I think it might have been a bad idea to skip the scaling thread.

Ahh, Okay.

You will need to scale it to fit you. The hand plates can be a bit odd, though. If you just go by your height, the handplate might not fit, not because you scaled it wrong, but because your hand might be bigger, or smaller. You should use the size testers, to get an accurate and easy to assemble piece to determine the correct size for you. It's alright if they are a little large, because the size will seem better when you have gloves/the rest of your undersuit on.

You should probably make your scale a little smaller than 68. Maybe 64, or 62. That's just my guess, from looking at the pictures in your first post: If you built it to the default size (86).

Also, 900 posts!!

Just to clear up, I use letter paper in my printer. However, the first set of pics were on "A4" scale and the second set was on "legal". I printed "letter" scale too, but it seemed too big.

I'll scale myself up tomorrow.

Also, I heard about something to do with magnets to make an AR (or any other gun) to stick on the back part of the chest-piece. Is there a tutorial-thread on this? If so, I think I missed it.

Edit: Congrats on 900!

I hate double posting but I have a question that needs answering. I have finished my pep for one of the gauntlets, but I don't know how to make a cast of it (I should cast AFTER resin right?). I couldn't really find a cast tutorial also, but it seems simple enough, I just need to know which material to use (& where to get it).

And my last question is; will the gauntlet have the same amount of detail once it is casted?

Pic of the pep btw:
