Bleach Ichigo Hollow Mask

Hey! Its been awhile since I've been to the forums and I have a few questions for a mask I am making. I'm sure there are some bleach fans on here and I need some advice.



First of all I was wondering if fiberglass could be applied to paperclay, as I am going to be taking that route rather than glassing. For the teeth it's been I've been told to use fake fingernails which I plan on doing unless someone has any other suggestions.



Second of all I would just like any comments or critique about the overall design and what could be improved.

I just had an old mask lying around and so I decided last night to randomly make this, and so it is a work in progress so I appriciate the help thanks and here's some pics

Hey. I have no idea about what to use with fiberglass, i hope some other people can help you with that.

Nice progress on the mask, looks just like ichigo's.

And yes, fake fingernails would be your best bet for the teeth.

Ah, well thanks for the comment, appreciate it! And yea the fingernails should hopefully work well, my only concern is that they won't be big enough. If that's the case however I think I could fold some paper to lengthen them. By the way for those that don't watch bleach here's a pic of what I'm trying to make.

You could make them out of cardboard and stick them on if the nails arent big enough?

Thanks! glad you like it. Just had an old mask lying around last night and got bored, started adding paper and folding, its actually a pretty easy build. Well I just got the paper clay tonight so think I'll try to work with it a bit and apply it. Never used this stuff before though so hope it turns out ok, I'll let it dray overnight once I get it how I need it. New pics hopefully tomorrow



Update(sorta) : Well I have good news and I have bad news. The good news? I have about half of the mask covered in clay! The bad? My camera's batteries died



I'll try to get some tomorrow or asap but I'm tired and done for the night.



'Nother update! =D Ok well I got alot of work done since my last update. I've covered the entire mask in clay and defined most of the prominent features. I also taped some paper teeth I made to see just get a preview of the size and arrangement. Tell me what ya think, comments and criticism welcome.

Thanks for the support, its an awesome anime I just hope I do it justice. I've got another update for you guys, I've got all the teeth glued on and a preview of the design.

dude! that thing looks sick man! i got one idea tho. wat if instead of making it a solid mask, u made the top of the face and the lower jaw seperately? like so that way it would open and close with your mouth when you talk like they show in the anime sometimes! all you would have to do is cut at the ends of the out, and you could hinge the top and bottom together and attach the top and bottom to your face with some elastic so it moved apporiately. just an idea though. cant wait to see this finished! keep it up!

Thanks! Yea thats a great idea and I've been trying to think of a way to do it. I'd have to figure a way to connect it to my jaw seperately so that it would open with my jaw. I may do this in the future but think I' gonna finish it normal first. Thanks for the input though, definitely might be something I'll do to it in the future!

that probs the most best quality ichigo hollow mask i've seen , the ones in japan they sell is .. to wide .



i'd moldcast that for you if i lived close by.

if you did want his banki sword i'm not to bad at making them.

About the clothes, Sierra, my friend and I were talking last night and his sister might be able to help me with making Ichigo's bankai cloak (can't remember what it's really called). That would probably be closer to Halloween though, but you can never start too early! I wish I could get a pair of these! http://www.grimmbrothershalloween.com/product_info.php/cPath/102_175/products_id/876 Would complete the mask. Ah well, better start saving my pennies.



Night Star, about the molding thing I would possibly like to do such a thing but at the time I don't have the know how or funds, guess I'll be reading up a bit on it. As to the sword, I bought one from ebay a few months ago, I believe it is the same one as on swordsswords.com, I'll probably include it in later/finished pics. Thanks for the offer though, but I am curious as to how you make them.



Jonny, yes I read the manga and it's amazing! SPOILER: That chapter in particular was amazing when he just owned Uliquiorra, reminds me of when he first started to get taken over by the hollow during the Byakuya fight. I might have to modify my mask later on. But then again he would be a bit harder to cosplay that way what with the horns and hair. The overall form factor has stayed the same so I would just need to repaint and add horns and a wig I 'spose.



And thanks to everyone for commenting, I hope to get a couple layers of paint on tonight after a few touch ups and filling in some areas. Also not sure if I have any red paint so might need to grab some of that.

You should make another mask to cover his even more badass vizard transformation (or trumpcard )

Heres a website which sells cosplay items and Bleach Kimonos (i finally remembered what they were, i called them bankai clothes in the last post ), it also says that you'll need an under jacket etc etc. you should check it out. Bleach: cosplay - ichigo costume

thanks man! i love spidey and thats one of my favorite covers, even tho its not his traditional suit ha. hey, i got an idea, if you saved up and molded it, you could then use some casts to experiment with and make them movable! and do you have his released zangetsu or the bankai zangetsu? both are really badass tho.



one of my favorite things about his sword is the way his hollow uses it. like when his hollow takes over before he becomes a vizard. i love how he just runs around swinging it around by the cloth (and chain in bankai), and then using zangetsu tenshou. i wish ichigo did that at all, its so badass!

Ooh I'll definitely have to check out that site Sierra, thanks! Yea I couldn't remember what his clothes were called called either lol. My friend was just over today messing with my katana and said he wanted to just twirl it around, wish normal Ichigo would do that more.



And Flipboy I think I'm gonna do that eventually, I'm gonna need to read up on it though, and yea I'll have to make one both with moving! Haha, that would just be BA I think. About the sword I have his Bankai release but not his shikai, don't think the shikai would be necessary for this but I've always wanted it...It reminds me of either a huge edge of a scythe or a gigantic butcher knife =D
