D**n spammers.

That's one nice looking sniper rifle! How did you manage to get that pep looking so clean?!

This thing looks amazing, can't wait to see it finished. On the not of reinforcement, once its resined you could just pump the thing full of hot glue. I've done that on a few smaller parts that were flimsy, not quite sure how it would work on a large scale though. just a thought

Thanks KRI667, I dont have a hot glue gun but it might be good for a couple small parts, i plan on doing rondo for the big sections like barrels, receiver, and cli.. err mag ;) and such.

New update! Finished the sholder rest finally. This was the more painful close so far all the angles made the part really want to flex when putting on the last parts but I managed. Now all thats left is the scope *shivers* really dont want to get started on it...

Sholder rest.

That is still looking excellent! One thing you can do when doing the resin stage is to not coat the whole part at once. If you do small bits at a time and reinforce large flat areas with cardboard this will help to prevent any warping. Check out cereal killers thread and watch his videos on different resins and the pep->resin process. He does a great job covering all of the information you should need.

honestly, I personally have been always very intimdated by weapon peps because of the difficulty level and the ease at which you can throw it off, but you've inspired me. Your work is really clean, and it looks top-notch, keep it up. Something that I'm not 100% sure of though, how do you resin the whole thing so it becomes one piece? or do you resin individual parts and then once everything is said and done you connect them with screws or something? Can't wait to see more of this!

The scope isnt as hard as it looks just take your time.

So far i have had to remake a couple pieces cause i botched em up so so far the scope kinda a pain but it's not as bad as i figured

That's what i planned for the resin process, but i didn't reinforce the flat sides of the model so i might run into a little bit of a problem but i guess ill cross that bridge when i get to it heh, and yeah Cereal Killer's vids are awesome he is a master of rondo and i plan of useing some of his techniques.

So far in the pics with it all together its just being held together with tape, I plan on resining and rondoing the individual components seperatly and bondo, shaping, and fitting them seperate. I'll probably glue the main body of the rifle with epoxy or CA glue. I'll leave the barrels and scope removable for the sake of transportation cause the thing is bloody giantic. Now that i think of it i probably should have stuck magnets on those pieces to help hold it together I'll probably do that next time, maybe after i rondo it i can work out the magnets.

Its looking really great. For the resign process just like Brandon McClain said, don't do the whole thing at once. A couple/ few layers is better then one or two thicker layers.
Can't wait to see the finished project.

Update time! Finished the scope, it really wasn't as bad as i thought. i left out the nobs and other details that i will add later with craft board and wood dowels other than that pepping is finished!

This looks excellent the scope looks a lil small Idk if it jus how I'm seeing it and I have the same exacto knife :p

You're right it does seem a little small at least the front lense part but im not sure how to fix it other than sculpt a whole lense thing =/ The knife set is a great set just wish the case was a little bit better crafted heh

If you need info for small details, I can PM you some renders of the in-game model, if it helps.

That would be awesome of you Blackout. The only pics I got for reference are a couple i got from halopedia

Nice job S-338 for a first project it looks great and is better than my MK VI helmant wich is my first build

Thanks alot guys project put on a small hold due to me being unemployed. =( So no money for resin and bondo till I find a new job. I have been working on my armor, pepping that all up wile I look for jobs. got the helmet and handplates pepped working on forearms had to scrap first pep cause of bad warping =/

How did you pep that as clean as you did. That is amazing for the size of the file. Fantastic job
