Man this thing's gonna be sweet when it gets built! *smiley needed that shows cheeks ripping*

You know what this build needs don't you fellas? A portable air cannon in the tubes that blows flour or powder out the back when the trigger's pulled! *insert two of the previous smiley!!*

BOLD # 1: You've got that right! :D

BOLD # 2: That would definately add a nice bit of realism to it! :)

I was thinking more along the lines of two model rockects.

Kewl, buddy... that could work, too ;)

Update-wise, I didn't get anything more done with the schematics yesterday (too busy), but hope to maybe put some time in on them over my lunch break. After I'm done with the second draft for the dorsal view -- and I'm confident it will only need a second draft -- I can then move on to the ventral view.

As it stands, I'm mostly done three out of the six schematics needed for this bad boy. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself, lol.

In all honesty, given the significance of today, I may or may not be able to put any time in on these. I will try, though.

T-shirt launcher! Great for parade duty. :D

Edit*
Here's a quick schematic of the reservoir and valve setup.

Yeah, I've kinda started to reflexively say "t-shirt gun" whenever someone wants to build something like this. I think this weekend, I'll actually backup those statements. ;)

Silly, silly Loess

And yeah... you damn well better do something to back up those oh-so-grandiose statements there, dude. I'm getting tired of all your "T-shirt launcher" talk and nothing but:lol: J/k

EDIT: Okay, so... no further progress, lol. My boss took me out to lunch, given the significance of today (hint: look at my profile info for details). The rest of my weekend's looking pretty much booked too -- everyone just wants a piece of the "E" man, lol -- so I don't know if I'll be able to get anymore done before next week. Will keep everyone updated on that.

Mister, I like the cut of your jib! Don't listen to Spnkr II, he's just jealous that he doesn't have the room to build his own PT-DU. That's Promotional T-shirt Delivery Unit to those who aren't in tune with such a visionary concept. :p

Not to nit-pick or anything, but... I think you should know you misspelled my name there, buddy. It's S-P-A-R-T-A-N II, not S-P-N-K-r II *shakes head* :p

You'd be right about not having the space to build anything like that, though. Having a match-box sized apartment isn't really conducive to much prop building, lol.

That's why I'm sticking to drafting prop schematics for now. A lot more manageable, given the limited amount of space I have to work with.

As I'd expected, didn't get a chance to make anymore progress on the SPNKr schematics. Had a very busy weekend. I plan to put more time in on them today, so I may have an update to post later

This is going to be a sweet project to see finished
i wish some one would build the spartan laser that would be nice too

You betcha!

As for the SPARTAN Laser, there are a few talented folks here who have managed to make it available in Pep (.pdo) and CAD format, and I have seen one or two projects start using those files/models.

So they're around. You just have to know where to look for them, is all.

I could always draft a set of schematics for that, but given the fact there are already a few files available for the model itself I don't know if there'd be enough interest to warrant that.

Besides, at the moment my drafting projects are more in line with what LeeKegan plans on doing next, lol. So, if it's not something he's wanting to put together right now, I likely won't be touching it for a while

Weee! Internet is back up at work!

I was going through withdrawal, not being able to jump on at break times, or while pro was taking it's time thinking about a complex model.

This weekend was particularly productive, the version 1 prototype PT-DU ;) is (mostly) complete. The electronics for it are not finished, but the valve also had a manual trip switch, so I was able to test it. It's a bit anemic, but works to throw a rolled-up sock (shop rag) about 10-15 yards.

Tonight, I'm going to try to get a vid of it posted, and get started on finding or designing a better valve.

Kewl! Looking forward to seeing you post a thread showing off this "visionary concept" (as j76 put it), buddy :)

It was a plug for your current WIP man! You know, that's all. :p ;)

One day my friend you will move to a place that has more space then you know what to do with. Then of course six months later it'll be full of half finished jobs and you won't have anywhere to put anything. It's always the way.

Dantastic is currently working on and off on a splazer that's a combination of pep, MDF and styrene that's looking soo very good and was recently moved to the elite section. You can find it here- It's Laza Time! ;)

BOLD # 1: Ah, so that's what it was; a plug for my WiP schematics. Alright. We'll go with that :)

BOLD # 2: Of course that's always the way, lol. Actually, I reached the point of having all sorts of half-finished projects a long time ago (have been in this hobby for eight years, after all). Since I don't have any room for them here, I had to put it all in storage :rolleyes

BOLD # 3: I couldn't remember that member's name, but that's who I was thinking of. Now it's all coming back to me, lol.

BOLD # 4: Yeah... I'd like to have my thread back, please:lol: J/k

Update-wise, I managed to finish the second draft for the top view of the SPNKr, so I should be able to at least get started on the bottom view over lunch.

Alright, folks! UPDATE TIME!

The following pic shows both the dorsal (top) and ventral (bottom) views of the SPNKr. Appropriately enough, the dorsal view is pictured above and the ventral view is pictured below, :

SPNKr Schematics

As can be seen, the dorsal view is on its final (only second) draft, whereas the ventral view is in need of at least one more draft (still trying to figure out a few things).

That now puts me at almost 2/3 done with this set. So, Lee... these should be coming to you soon, buddy ;)

Those look NICE! I can't wait to see what Lee can do with these drawings! (y)

You and me both, buddy! If his SR is any indication, it'll be one helluva build! :D
