Chaos Space Marine

Excellent work so far. The folds look very clean. I've always loved the armor style in 40k. I'll definitely be watching this thread as your project progresses. Best of luck! :)

Haven't really been here much lately other than some quick looks, but I noticed your updates & went "WOW". Looks exceptional, awesome pose too. I made up a small version of that helmet, & I'll tell you that you are going to have very little fun with body filler. It is quite hard with Lo-Def, so just keep that in mind.

If you persevere though, it will look awesome & I definitely want to see it. I want to see the finished suit anyway, but you know what I mean.

That pose is truly awesome lol.

Your build looks like it is going good so far..... I was going to use that same chest piece but it didnt look right in pepakura for some reason, now that i see it built i may revisit it if my scratch built one doesnt work :D

For size purposes i actually printed off a 6 foot version of the picture you can get from the Space Marine Painter... makes sizing in pepakura a whole lot easier......

Watching with interest how this build goes.

Love the horns! Keep up the awesome work. Once my Halo gear is done I am definetly gonna start on a Space Marine!

Please do!!!! Drgn :)

and great work Horgh

and H1rgon awesome that would have made things so much quicker to make my painter file 6 feet tall instead of xtreme's math and using the scale of a normal 8.5x11 picture oh well mines all scaled for now so

This has to be THE Chaos pose IMO. I think all Chaos WIP's should have at least 1 picture in this pose.

I can see a photoshop touchup happening. Lightning, crackling around the hands, eyes glowing the same colour...

Awesome Horgh.

lol Hirgon that's pretty awesome. I considered doing something like that but I thought the scale would look a bit weird. And if you're scratch building the chest I'll be looking forward to see how that goes on. I'm going to be scratch building the legs and backpack, just because they're going to be hard to modify if I pep them, especially the backpack considering it's so different from the loyalists' (scum).

Unfortunately I have pushed aside the completion of the final chest pep just because of college work, but I will be working on it tonight soooo I should have it done tonight because it's mostly done, just need to ad the final few bits. But yaknow, nothing exciting, just a slightly sturdier version of what you've already seen.

After I've pepped the chest I'm going to start actually designing and figuring out some of the things I'm going to do to the parts. Skulls, arrows, spikes, etc. Might even put some things to a vote if I'm too indecisive.

Chest is done and dusted, the bottom part is so fiddly. No update pic because.. well, you know what it looks like already.

Next I guess I'll be looking at designing the suit. And I've been having second thoughts on the Legion/Colour scheme. I'm thinking of Word Bearers, but I'm still not sure.

This is their paint job; pretty cool, but if I do go for the Word Bearers I'll have to make some torn scrolls and pages with demonic symbols on the armour.

Buuuut not sure, we'll see.

All i did was grab the image from the Space Marine Painter....increased the size something like 3000% in Paint Shop Pro. Opened up the new image in Microsoft paint and hit print.....it does multi pages if you keep the image to scale (example - dont choose the "Fit To Page" option). Then the tedious part of trimming, lining up and taping all the pieces together.

They came out with some file just like this one and my bro was begging me to make it for him lol. He play this 40k or warhammer and he play the space pups lol. This is by far the furthest I've seen someone come to a full suit though.

Updated, doodles of ideas. Question: what will everyone be doing about their gloves? Need some help here!

Well I went for cricket gloves, batsmen's more precisely. Had to buy 2 pair, a Left Hander & a Right hander to get the thumb padding.

Then hit them with vinyl paint, usually for dashboards & interior bits in cars.

Hope it helps.

Cricket? lol what's that? hehehe

I'm going to use a pair of old hockey gloves... all of these different glove types should work, and you can get used equipment at Play it again Sports here in the States. And it's pretty cheap.

the quest is really what is everyone going to do about shoes? LOL

My plan is to make clay models of the feet to scale over a set of my work boots.....then make a mother mold of the model ..... then use Flex Foam It 25 to cast it.
