honestly, the designs are flawed at best. the problem with taking the top off the helmet is that it makes the helmet useless. let us remember why we wear helmets- to protect our brains from damage sustained from enemy fire, shrapnel from explosions, and yes, even the sun. and the cloak? seriously, why wear a cloak? will the poor little spartan catch a sniffle if he doesn't stay warm? the effect is interesting, reminding me somewhat of a futuristic japanime show. but in terms of feasibility and fieldability- well, to say that a redesign is necessary is an understatement. no vote.

I understand that removing the top negates the effectiveness of a traditinal helmet, this is set 20 years after Halo 3, I'm assuming that energy shield technology has made some large advancements since humans and Elites are working together. The "helmet" is now only a gas mask, HUD, and communications device. The armor now is there only to enhance the abilities of the Spartans. The shields have been improved to the point that anything that would get through them would easily destroy the armor. The cloak is merely an aesthetic addition to the armor, there only for the first scene of the movie where this armor will be featured. I did not ask for people to question what my designs were, merely to fulfill a request, one that I was more then willing to compensate them for.

Your post has not purpose other then to criticize the work that others had put up here to show, and has done nothing to add to this thread. The dilemmas you stated have also been discussed previously in the thread.

While I appreciate constructive criticism, and I am assuming that was the intent of your post, this is not the time to discuss it. It would have been much more appropriate to make your concerns on the design of the armor noted during the submission phase.

Now back to the topic at hand.

The two designs with the highest total scores will be receiving the prizes stated in my first post. Though I have to remove the Mk. V hand plates, due to the loss of my mold for them during my recent move, I do however still have my Mk. VI hand plate mold, so no worries there. To make up for this change I can paint and weather the hand plates for the winner. (If desired) Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

voted for the ones that actually read the rules and built the stuff over the existing MK VI parts.
