Most of the faceplates on the helmet of Halo have lines 'etched, embossed, or engraved' into them, and though I like those designs, I'm interested in developing my own original design. On my first Mk VI helmet, I tried using a Honda Tribal decal template as the faceplate design, and although it looks uninteresting and dull in pictures, it loos rather sharp and fierce in person. So I'm starting this thread in curiosity as to what people have, or will do, for their own original faceplate designs.

I've seen people do double visors.

Personally for me I'd just cut out the visor after it's been hardened and smoothened then vacuum form it from clear plastic. After that just use headlight paint or something similar.

The double visor does look good, but then I think about how dark it would be in a low light setting. Therefore, I usually just etch designs in.

As for vacuum forming, I don't have experience, but the results I've seen are phenomenal. I might have to try it if I ever get around to making an EVA or ODST.
