Dark Souls DrakeBlood Armor Set

Hello and welcome to my first non-Halo cosplay!

First I'd like to say that, if you don't know me, I'm a beginner cosplayer and I've made 2 cosplays before. I made a Mark V (b) Operator set from Halo reach and a desert themed Mirage set from Halo Infinite that I am building with a few other friends. I'm saying this to let y'all know that I am very open to constructive criticism and help in any way possible.

Actually starting now, I've made a build document that will contain all the processes, plans, and progress on the build.

Here's the document in case you'd want to see it: DrakeBlood Armor Plans

Here's also my other 2 cosplay threads if you'd like to see that too:

(The other one doesn't have a build thread, but you can see it on my Instagram "blafftat1_")

I'd also like to say that I am going based of of the concept art and NOT the in game models. I prefer the design of the concept art because the decals are more flowy and it has a few other aspects that I like.

Well thanks for reading the beginning of this build thread. Follow it, or not, but I hope you'll stay long enough to see the finished product!

I’ve made some great progress in the past couple days! So to have a “base” of sorts for the helmet, I used the PrimeProps knight helmet kit and just made the base helmet with a few modifications such as a neck extender and a chin strap.

After that, I began on the visor with some hand made templates for the lower and upper sections. It’s wasn’t that hard and I already had them on hand so all I did was just cut them up and put them together!

Here’s the base helmet with the visor temporarily taped on for photos.

Next I intend to smooth the helmet and begin decals and then do the same for the visor. It’ll take me a while but I’ll see you in a couple days!

So I’ve completed the base helmet and created a way of rigging to my head and a magnet to take the visor on and off.

I saved all my custom templates so that other people can use them too. I’ve also been using contact cement for everything and backing my seams with hot glue.

So I had a few problems either the foam clay because I tried sealing all the seams using it but then found out that when I sanded them it peeled them back up. This wasn’t a problem at the moment but when I heat sealed it, it swelled the foam and undid all the previous work I had just completed. I am now going to use silicon caulk to seal all of the seams AFTER I heat seal it.

So following this new method, I plan to fully complete the helmet by next week.

Here's some photos of the helmet so far. All I need to do to finish the helmet is finish the embellishments (Which will take forever for all the little things), seal the seams, and then Plasti-Dip it.
