Elite dangerous: desk display

So this is a little different compared to what I normally make, but I recently moved to a bigger office and it was feeling really empty.

So I hopped over to thingiverse and grabbed a couple ship models from one of my favorite space Sim games of all time: elite dangerous.

Sent the files through the printer and pow. Some nicely sized models to display on my desk or shelves at work.

Now that I have the models that is all well and good. But just a raw 3d print in grey doesn't have all the character that the ship could have so it is time for paint!

And the game had a number of paint schemes I could have used but I settled on this one:

And so the process begins. Have some pictures:

This is a fun little side project until I can get my workshop warmed back up. But I am having fun with it!

It looks great! Except for the fact that you have a Condor instead of a Taipan, and you're paint job is far to fresh. ;) Jump out to Colonia a bit and get it scratched up some! Everyone knows that fresh paint is the sign of a rookie! I'd dock points for not having the addons, but I haven't found files for those either, so you get a pass. o7 Commander!

Had a day off from work due to winter weather. Made some more progress.

Have some pictures:

Getting close to done. Just some final touches.
